My family hasn't been well, so I'm late on all fronts. Sorry.
But I have to admit I was completely stuck here too. The famous. cursed middle section. But thankfully after reading a fanfic in a completely different fandom, I was inspired.
Warning: Graphic details of death after the 6th pic (Wang Yibo in white). Move to the 8th pic if this disturbs you. The final sentence is Wen Zhuliu's hand is around Wei Ying's neck.
There is smut after the 13th pic. Its explicit, in keeping with Wangxian and probably bad.
Thank you!

He had resigned himself to Wei Ying backing away.
Not far, he lived here after all, but far enough was the bedroom and the long hours until the morning light. The wedge of distance Wei Ying might decide to force between them again. Or even more likely, he thought with a depressed sigh and silent, self-flagellating rebukes, tomorrow evening when he came home.
Wei Wuxian would pretend everything was fine, block or defect or simply shut down, any attempt to talk about tonight and breeze onward as if nothing had happened.
It was Lan Zhan, thought loyally, the problem of growing up in a specific kind of abusive household.
Lotus Pier had functioned well under Jiang Fengmian, while everyone was pretending everything was fine and normal. No one had felt safe or valued, but publicly that false perfection was enough. It was present today, in invisible scars and patterns of behavior none of the Jiang siblings could break. What existed over it, or perhaps more accurately what had saved them from it, was the strong bond and unspoken love that united the three.
Jiang Yanli most of all. The oldest sibling had fought the hardest to keep her younger brothers sane, happy and at least loved. She understood them and loved unconditionally. She was the glue that held them together and by making her stand, striding to the head of the family when everything collapsed, she had held them together.
Wei Wuxian never held anything against his siblings and remained utterly devoted to them. He was the one holding up the other two, giving them the confidence to face everything that had happened.
Lan Zhan really didn't want to become something else to endure. He loved Wei Ying too much.
To his surprise, Wei Ying finished his dinner with a pensive look on his beautiful face.
It had anxiety tightening Lan Zhan's throat, the unavoidable fact that he had unloaded an enormous amount of information on Wei Ying, none of which the man had been expecting, and that was glaringly obvious. What Lan Zhan didn't understand, was why Wei Ying had been....annoyed? Upset? Bracing for a fight?
