Chapter 5: Death by my Hands

ANYWAY ON WITH THE STORY

Haine's POV
The wind whistled by as I sighed under my mask. My partner was late. Climbing the tree, I sat on a branch and waited for him. A rustling noise was heard as I glanced down. It was Natsume with a cat mask. I figured.

I leapt down in front of him and sighed.
"Hey, I am the Colourless Fox.
Nice to meet you. I heard that you are the Black Cat, I am replacing a someone as they are unable to participate in this mission."

Of course I was wearing a mask so he wouldn't know it was me. But why did I lie? (Btw, the mask is the picture shown)
Duh, I noticed that he listened to my conversation with Persona. He was loud.

I saw him sigh. I guess he was relieved. Walking towards the front gate of the school, I glanced at him, only to find him with a disgruntled expression.

Natsume's POV
I was relieved that it wasn't Haine. She didn't need to go on these missions. But I did wonder, I've never seen this person in class before, and he seemed my age.

As we walked towards an abandoned warehouse, we heard some maniacal laughter from inside. Banging down the door, we came to some men with cargo.

Instantly, I knew it was illegal cargo. It seemed like my partner also realised as he ran towards the men. On instinct, I started burning the products and glanced at my partner to find several beaten up men around him.

As more men approached him, he swiftly dodged them and kicked the back of their knees. Instantly, they collapsed and fell unconscious.

I felt a smirk under his mask as the surrounding men fell. This person was experienced in jobs like these.
It's definitely not Haine.

"The job's done. Let's go report back to Persona."

"Whatever"

"Heh"

Haine's POV
As we headed back, I wondered about Natsume's alice.
Fire Alice... That's interesting... It must be a life-shortening alice.

Unexpectedly, he asked me a question.
"Why are you obeying Persona's missions?"
Not wanting to tell it to someone I didn't even trust, I answered,
"Same reason as you. "

I heard him gasp. I guess his reason must be deep.

When we arrived at the school gates. Persona came with a smirk on his face.
"Well done Colourless Fox and Black Cat. Colourless Fox, you may go."

Putting both of my hands behind my head I said
"Sure" and walked away. I wonder what he is going to talk to Natsume about. Oh whatever. I need to sleep.

Natsume's POV
"What do you think of the new member of the Dangerous Ability class?"
"Fine"
"Hmm. I see. You may go."

Gritting my teeth, I leapt away back to my dorm room.
Damn, a new student. I hope all this goes well.

Later in the morning~

As I walked into the classroom, the new student was already there. I sat next to her. She seemed to be asleep.

As I looked at her, my mask shocked me. Damn this. As more people came in, I started reading my manga.

Class was boring. Then it was ability class period.

As I went into the classroom, I felt glares from the older students. I picked up Yoichi and sat him onto my lap.

Persona then came in with Colourless Fox who had his mask still on.

"We have a new student. Take care of him."

Then he walked out of the classroom. He was then crowded by the older kids, asking questions about his alice.

He didn't answer and instead sat next to me and stayed silent. I could guess that he was sleeping.

I sure hope that he doesn't have to use his alice much. I wondered what his alice was and decided to give up.

And unconsciously at the back of my mind, I hoped that I wouldn't

Kill him by my hands.
