Chapter 1 :

River's POV :

* Earlier years *

My mom is a doctor. My dad is a business man... Money was/is never really a problem.

But when my mom one day came back with a girl that was clearly pregnant. Everything Changed. The girl was 15 years old, she ran away from home and my mom saw her one night driving back home. There was going to be a storm that night and you could clearly see she was prago. Then my mom took her in. She told us the father wanted nothing with the baby. Her parents kicked her out. I was 2 years old at the time. Now I understand WAY more now that I'm older.

But I just thought she was a girl that would move in with us...didn't really think much about it growing up. My mom bought her a 3 bedroom apartment not too far from where we live (walking distance) She wanted to keep in touch but she couldn't let my parents let her live there for free so she became or maid to "pay it off " .(my mom is strubon and pushy) She ended up paying for her to continue school and university. Soo Kalya's mom was done with school when Kayla was 7... and got a hella good paying job at one of my dad's companies.

Kayla and Me are close..

When I was 7 and Kayla was 5 her dad,came back. We found out that Kayla's dad wanted to be a part of Kalya's life and her mom(Chris) lied about it. She lied because everyone didn't want or liked her but Kalya's dad, that wasn't enough for Kalya's Mom so she ran away.

I think when I was 10-15 I realized I had a crush on her Dad, he was in his 20's and HOT. And Kade fully understood why, but Kayla didn't (obviously it was her dad). One thing thou,I never knew why her dad went after Chris till I saw her older pictures she was a total bae.
