"I can make you so much more- I can make you loved by millions. Adored, you would never feel useless and un-noticed for your hardships ever again..."

...

From how the Devil had always been described to Dice, he was surprised to hear his voice sound so... chipper and reassuring... but it had to be a trick, right? The Devil was known or at least rumored to know exactly what you wanted to hear just by looking at you.

"I don't know..." the die head whispered, turning away to think, though his face was immediately brought back by a whip of the Devil's tail.

The demon put a clawed hand to his bat-like ear, his other hand pulling Dice closer to him. "Do you hear them?" he inquired with a façade of shock. Seeing Dice's brows furrow with hurt, Devil refrained from smirking, knowing he had pulled him in for sure now. "Laughing at your attempts to be 'good?' some friends..." The Devil gave a false expression of sympathy, putting a hand on either side of Dice's D6. "But I'll be your..." he paused before smiling, "Friend..."

Dice felt himself shrink at what sounded like his friends beating his hopes down, then laughing at him, calling him horrible things. He could feel his sudden anger towards his hometown friends heat him up, but he calmed himself down with one of those deep breaths that Joe had told him to use. Dice looked away with a frown for a moment, then looked at the Devil, directly in the eyes which actually surprised both of them.

"Alright, I'll take you up on your little deal. But I have a rule that if you break it, I will break from you." Dice compromised with a sternness that the Devil never heard directed towards him. It angered him, but at the same time, it made him give a smirk of approval. The boy had guts.
"Go on." The Devil urged, readying a contract as well as a quill and inkwell with the snap of his fingers. His tail swooshed impatiently.

Dice kept himself from gulping at the sight, he was really going to throw his life away like this? 'What life?'' he reminded himself. He looked at the Devil once more, and almost ordered, "You won't hurt Joe or Tea to fulfill my contract. You won't harm them to 'fix' me. You'll leave them alone, even if they're..." he didn't want to believe what he heard them saying, their laughter, their remarks, but... but it was their voices...

"... even if they're upright assholes? The two people you thought were your friends who you could trust are betraying you, and you want them 'safe' you say?" When Dice gave a grimaced nod, Devil shrugged, and willed it to the contract. "Very well then... Now, do we have a deal?"

Dice stood there hesitant as his hand shook to grab the quill. He dipped the feather in the red ink, and when signed Kingsly Dice, he whispered, "It's a deal..." Just as he uttered the words, the contract went somewhere in a puff of smoke, causing the young adult to cough a little as he waved it away. "You know, being an eldritch being and all, and having done this for thousands- no, millions of years, ya'd think you'd figure out a way that-" he coughed again. "- You'd figure out a way to sign contracts that didn't suffocate your debtors..."

The Devil cackled, pleased with this boy's sarcasm. "Oooh, I'm going to enjoy having you work for me..." He commented, shoving his staff down into the earth and teleporting them both to a familiar place. The casino, that's where they had met... Hooking Dice's collar with his pitchfork, he warned, "Though, don't let my compliment undermine the idea that I'm still in charge... Do you understand- Dice Boy?"

Dice wasn't sure how much he liked that little nickname, as his mouth clenched into a tight frown. Though he knew he had to play along if he wanted his contract to remain standing. "I understand."

The Devil clapped his hands together a few times. Oh yeah, this guy had a screw loose, and not in an evil way like expected... "I'm pleasantly surprised with your attitude! Most debtors would break down over the shit I've pulled thus far." As Satan walked away, he added, "Maybe you'll become one of my higher staff at the casino. Now, the craps table needs attending to, watch over the patrons will you? You seem like a tough boy, you could conk heads if it gets out of hand, correct?"

"... Yes. I could." Dice claimed, walking off to the craps table, silent in his thoughts.

"Splendid! Don't let me keep you now, go on." The Devil shooed Dice even if he was already walking towards the craps table. He smirked, whispering to himself quietly, "I don't think being noticed was the only thing you were after, Dice, I think you wanted a bit of power too. I can smell your ruling desires... like a king..."
