Our Bonds That Can Not Be Broken

Chapter Two

"THAT'S A DEMON! WHY ARE YOU PROTECTING IT!?" I tried to drown the guy with the boar masks screams out of my head. "TANJIRO SAID THIS WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO HIM!" Zenitsu screamed.

The guy with the boar mask kicked my brothers eye and grabbed me by the collar of my shirt before throwing me at a tree. "INOSUKE STOP IT! BASHIRO!!" The screams echoed in my head.

My vision was blurring, I could hardly make out what was going on. I felt arms pick me up, my head fell back, it hurt so much.

My eyes started closing, and I blacked out.

My eyes opened. I had a head splitting headache and I felt like my brain was going to explode. "Bashiro!" I saw Zenitsu's face above mine and he engulfed me in a hug, pulling me to a position where I was now sitting.

"Zenitsu.." I muttered, turning my head to look see Kanna. "Bashiro!" She ran up to me and pulled me to my feet, "I'm so sorry about my brother, he's got an overwhelming love for beating up people..."

I laughed softly, "It's okay." I assured her. "INOSUKE STOP THREATENING TO BEAT UP TANJIRO!" Kanna screamed, running over to Inosuke and pushing him away. "NO! I WILL PROVE THAT I AM BET-" "I will tell them what you did as a child."

The face that looked overwhelming like a female paled, "You wouldn't dare." He said through gritted teeth. She narrowed her eyes at him, smirking in the process, "I would."

He groaned and shoved his boar mask back on. Kanna smirked and ruffled the top of his mask, "The younger sister always wins."

After we made sure the kids were situated, we headed off in a search for some lodging. Tanjiro had offered to carrying Zenitsu on his back which I thanked him for. I offered to carry his box for him, but he quickly refused.

I was getting pretty suspicious of that box. If what Inosuke had said was true, why was he carrying a demon around? "Fight me." Inosuke had said for what seemed like the five hundredth time.

"Inosuke-" "I have a name y'know, it's Tanjiro Kamado!" Tanjiro defended, glaring slightly at Inosuke. "All right Gonparchiro Kamaboko, I'm gonna bring you down." I couldn't help it, I started dying with laughter.

"WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO!?" Tanjiro shouted, "YOU!? WHO ELSE-" "COULD YOU TWO KEEP IT DOWN PLEASE!!" Zenitsu screamed, causing me to laugh even harder, which caused Kanna to join in.

"It's time to rest!" The crow in Tanjiro's hands commanded. "Are you sure? I mean I have been traveling with injuries this entire time..." I instantly felt bad for him, I hadn't even noticed.

"Let's eat this thing." I stared at Inosuke with wide eyes, "No." Kanna said with zero emotion, "His name shall be John the fifteenth." She cooed, petting the crow.

"Yes! John the fifteenth!" I exclaimed, joining in on her conversation.

"Are you five here to stay?" I directed my attention to the small old lady that was at the cottage in front of us. "I think she's a ghost..." Zenitsu stated, definitely loud enough for her to hear.

"ZENITSU!" I scolded, shoving his shoulder. The old lady continued to give us meals and clothes along with small sleeping bags. "Hey, wanna be roomies on sleeping bags tonight? We could make popcorn!" Kanna exclaimed.

I smiled, man it was glad to have a girl on this trip. I had already decided she was my best friend, nobody could stop me. "Sure!" I exclaimed and I took a sleeping bag next to her, Tanjiro laid on the other side of me.

"Hey Tanjiro, I've been meaning to ask you about the box.." Zenitsu started. I was about to tell him not to poke into his business before a shuffling sound was heard behind us.

I turned around and saw the box was moving. "NO! IT'S THE EVIL MONSTER WHO EATS MY SOCKS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!" Kanna screamed before diving behind me.

"A demon is eating your socks in the middle of the night!?" I asked, looking at her. "IT ATE MY PIG SOCKS!!" She screamed.

The door to the box opened and I held my breath, feeling slightly afraid. The fear melted away when I saw a girl who couldn't have been any older than twelve crawl out.

She was definitely a demon, but I noticed almost instantly that her and Tanjiro shared some face features. I put two and two together, they were brother and sister.

"Hi, Nezuko!" Tanjiro said, giving her a smile. She closed her eyes and made a noise, that sounded like she was happy to see him.

"Nezuko.." I muttered, testing the name on my tongue. "Mmph?" She mumbled, turning to look at me. I smiled at her and stood, turning to look at Tanjiro to see if I had permission to go any closer.

He gave me a kind smile which I assumed was a 'yes' so I moved forward. "Hi, Nezuko. I'm Bashiro." I said, not knowing if she could understand me at all.

I tried to think of something I could give her, to try and show I meant no harm. I remembered I had picked some flowers and placed them in my bag two days ago when me and Zenitsu came upon a flower field.

I ran over to my bag and pulled out a flower before offering it to Nezuko. She stared at it and then slowly put her hands out to take it.

She looked back up at me and shut her eyes before engulfing me in a tight hug. It took me by surprise, but I slowly hugged her back.

She pulled back from the hug and ran over to give Kanna a hug before running back over to me. Tanjiro smiled widely, "She likes you both." He informed, looking over at his sister.

"Tanjiro...you were carrying a pretty girl and keeping her..ALL TO YOURSELF!!!" I jumped at Zenitsu's screams, 'Did he not figure out they're siblings..?' I thought.

Zenitsu pulled his katana out, "I WILL TAKE HER FROM YOU!" I ran forward, "ZENITSU NO!"

I sat in the corner of the room the next morning, talking to Kanna when Nezuko's box opened up and she crawled out.

I was about to say something to her, but Zenitsu interrupted. "Nezuko-channn!"

Nezuko turned to look at him, but he was now chasing her around. I got up ready to engage when Tanjiro stepped in front of her, "Zenitsu, stop chasing her!" He commanded.

"Tanjiro...LET'S BE FRIENDS TANJIRO!!" I ran over to Nezuko, pulling her out of the chase that Zenitsu was continuing.

She turned to look at me a mumbled a, 'Mhmm!' with what I assumed was her best attempt at a smile. She was now staring at Tanjiro in concern.

I noticed Kanna was counting down from three with her fingers. Right when she got to one, Inosuke burst through the door and screamed before head butting Tanjiro in the back.

"INOSUKE!" I scolded, running to help pick Tanjiro up. "Inosuke, stop head butting people." Kanna's tone was annoyed. Inosuke screamed again before starting to chase Zenitsu, and Tanjiro.

I sighed out of defeat and walked over to Nezuko and Kanna, "They're going to be doing this for a while." I muttered, defeat had won this time.

'Mmm.' Nezuko mumbled, her tone seemed annoyed aswell and I couldn't help but laugh, Kanna joining in. 'Mmhmm.' She mumbled again.

'Alright, a best friend and a girl who could be considered our younger sibling.' I thought, smiling in the process.

I heard a thud and turned around to see all three of the boys were laying on their backs, gasping for air.

"Inosuke, when he was a child ate a piece of grass and decided it was delicious, so he made a smoothie out of grass and dirt." Kanna said quickly.

"WHY DID YOU TELL THEM THAT!!" Inosuke shouted, standing up. "This is a lesson for chasing and head butting our friends."

I laughed at her antics, Kanna was right, the younger sibling always wins.
