Brandi Hargrove brushed through her hair as the school bell rang through out the parking lot. "We don't have all day California princess let's go." Shouted Her brother Billy frustratingly tapping on the glass window.
"Did you wish max good luck." She replied brushing out the strands that somehow made there way into her mouth.
"No she's twelve the girl can look after herself." Rolling up a joint the Hargrove boy slyly winked to the gushing girls stood a few feet away from their car an eruption of laughs occurring after that.
"I'm just saying when you were twelve you got yourself expelled the first day of high school so let's not be big headed here Goldilocks."
Slowly turning to face her brother Brandi was confused at the sudden silence the two of them had fallen in.
"Hey, you want me to get you a pole so you can show them some more of your moves or?" She snarked, after that snapping her fingers in his face.
"Alright Jesus, what?"
"If we have to move to another dam town Billy because you screwed everything up again I will kill you understood." Breathing in his burning cigarette he slowly took a few steps towards his sister before breathing it out close to her face.
"Wow you really are a mommy's girl these days aren't you."
Letting out a sigh she turned around shutting the car door.
"Asshole."
To show that she was pissed Brandi followed her walk into her new high school with a shoulder barge towards her brother.
It was safe to say he got the hint he took it to far.
No one not max, Billy or Brandi wanted to come to Hawkins Indiana to finish there school year. It was a town where everything smelled like shit, everyone new each other and weird ass locals would put on pointless festivals every month which nobody even wanted to go to.
But besides all that it was clear that brandi and max were tired of the constant move around so they did whatever they could to stay in one place as long as they can.
Billy however was very open about his feelings.
"Well, well would the two of you like to introduce yourselves." Said mrs Harris as she crossed over her legs with interest.
Shooting a look of frustration towards her brother who was still lingering outside the door with a smug smile on his face, Brandi took a step forward into the classroom.
"Hi I'm brandi." She said with a clear lack of enthusiasm.
"Brandi peculiar is there a story behind your name my dear." The older women smiled so innocently when saying that sentence, if only she understood the real truth.
"What can I say mrs harris my father loves a good drink." If there was one thing brandi was  good at it was making jokes out of her trauma even though her comment was true, people tend to laugh when things start to get serious.
"As do us all and you darling what is your name."
"Billy." He huffed throwing his leather jacket over his shoulder.
"Is there a story behind your name my....."
Mrs Harris was cut of by the Hargrove boys impatience.
If there was one thing you should know about Billy is that his span for that is the lowest that low can get.
"No my dear unfortunately there isn't."
He said slowly, brandi pretended to look out the window as if she was oblivious to the scene around her.
"Alright then well welcome to Hawkins the both of you, you may take your seats."
Billy proceeded to sit down next to which chick he thought was the hottest in the room, brandi however as anyone would after an awkward encounter walked to the empty chair at the back of the classroom. Pulling her bag up too her shoulder she was suddenly stopped by an arm leaning over one table to another although the guy continued to stay turned the other way.
Slightly coughing to get his attention, the brunette girl new exactly what kind of person she was dealing with before he even opened his mouth. With hair so effortlessly styled, blue eyes so deep but clear and a wide grin on his face, his whole demeanour screamed 'I'm a jerk' all to well.
"Can I help you." He smirked laughing to one of his friends behind him.
"Yes actually..." she paused awaiting for a response.
"Steve."
"Steve I know it's a lot to ask and I owe you big time but could you maybe move your fucking arm so I could sit down."
The smirk slowly faded from his face following  through with the girls request as a burst of 'ohhhh'  erupted from his surroundings.
"Quiet please I don't want to be giving out any detentions today." Mrs Harris smiled waving her hand to gain her students attention.
Brandi finally reached her metal stool when her eyes directed back towards the boy she just spoke to. It's weird she couldn't help but faintly smile as she watched him suddenly be quiet, what she didn't notice though was her older brother analysing the entire situation from the other side of the room.

Steve Harrington was the definition of don't judge a book by its cover. You see he seems like a total jerk and trust me he can be a total jerk but there was also a side to him nobody really gets to see. That's what Nancy wheeler his girlfriend argues to her friend Jonathan every time he screws up anyway. The two already new each other through their younger brothers as their bond was so close but never really spoke until the crazy events of last year.
Steve hated whatever he thought was going on between the two of them. It was driving him insane trying to figure out whether it was something more than what Nancy said it was.
So as he watched the two of them walk into the school cafeteria with smiles on their faces he couldn't help but slowly grind his teeth.
"I'm just saying me and Tina, so happening tonight dude" Tommy sated to all of his friends around him.
"Dude, what about carol?" One of them replied laughing at the guys disloyalty to his own girl.
"Carol doesn't need to no everything now does she, isn't that right Harrington."
The blue eyed boy turned to face his so called friend, eyebrows slightly raised.
"What's that supposed to me man?"
Steve wished he had the kind of friends that would make him feel better about himself and boost his ego once in a while but it seems none of them really give a shit about anyones feelings besides their own.
"I'm just saying wheeler and Byers,
deffo something going on there, none of us would blame you if you wanted to hitch yourself a new chick for the party tonight." Tommy began to walk towards the Harrington boy before finding as Seat directly next to him. Throwing his arm around his friends shoulder his eyes began to search the room as if he was looking out for a target. "Bingo." He whispered, turning Steves head to look where he was looking.
"You've got to be kidding me." He said scrunching up his face in disgust.

Blasting Bon Jovi through her stereo brandi Hargrove sat alone on a bench parked in the corner of the cafeteria. She never was very sociable mostly because every time she started somewhere new she would just follow Billy around but then he turned into ass/man whore  so she decided she'd be better on her own. With the school bell drowning out her music the Hargrove girl began to put all of her stereo tapes into her bag before she noticed a figure leaning on the wall next to her.
"Oh hi jackass nice to see you again." She smiled sarcastically at Steve Harrington before zipping up her bag. The boy widened his eyes to his friends across the room while the girl wasn't looking.
"Ok look brandi, wait that is your name right?"
He genuinely questioned causing her to raise her eyebrows and walk away.
"Real smooth dickhead."
Shaking her head in disbelief of Steve's audacity she noticed that he still continued to follow her.
"Look brandi I feel like we got off on the wrong foot earlier in class I'm just trying to change that." She laughed to herself before speeding up her walk.
"Why did I damage your stupid jock ego or something." Looking to his left he saw his girlfriend stood by her locker with the Byers boy again. All of a sudden Nancy shared a glance in his direction and he realised if brandi continued to walk away this would all be pointless. Picking up his speed he ran in front of the Hargrove girl not allowing her to take another step until he said what he needed to say. "There's this party at Tina's tonight and I thought to help us start on the right foot you should come meet some new people."
Looking him dead in the eye she remained silent trying not to show the large amount of confusion she gained from this interaction.
"Here's a err leaflet if you need one it's got the location and stuff on it"
rejecting the orange sheet of paper in his hand brandi unfolded a scrunched up ball from out of her jacket to  reveal the same leaflet the Harrington boy had in his hand.
"Orange is such a shit colour dont you think Steve?" Brandi questioned.
"I mean why out of all the colours in the world would you choose orange I mean come on I wouldn't be caught dead in it."
She laughed trying to make it sound as real as possible. The blue eyed boy continued standing  there in silence before clicking on that she was waiting for him to respond.
"Ye totally orange, orange is a gross colour." He agreed nodding his head a smile on his face knowing Nancy eyes were burning through the back of his head.
"Come on brandi you kinda still owe me big time remember." Blinking a couple of times she  remembered the comment she made to the boy during there incident earlier in the day making the corners of her mouth rise a little.
"I'll consider it Harrington but no promises."
Brandi new her chances of going to this Halloween party were zero to none but she had a feeling the guy wasn't gonna leave her alone until she gave him a decent answer.
Steve Harrington was feeling pretty good about himself watching Brandi turn her back on him and continue walking to class. Everything went as planned, he possibly got the girl he needed  to come to Tina's  party and made Nancy jealous while doing so it's safe to say Tommy is an absolute genius.
"Steve." Brandi shouted down the hall as she turned back to the smug Harrington boy.
"Your t-shirts orange."
Looking down at his shirt Steve looked back at her with a slight smile on his face seeing her laugh from down the hall. He will admit she was difficult but she was good.
