Rae is not the usual eighteen year old. After finishing school a year early, with four A grade A Levels, she finds herself not at a top University, but starting her second gap year in a job she knows hardly anything about. She enters the world of music with what she calls a cracked mask, hiding her true feelings and depression way underneath the surface. She knows she hides it so well that it is not anyone's fault that they can't see through it, but she needs to help herself before anyone can help her. The thing is though, when you have held a mask up for so long, you start to not be able to recognise the real you. But when she meets a certain someone, she starts to differentiate between real and fake, but you can only help yourself so far. The hole she dug, is so deep she needs an extra pair of hands to climb to the surface.

Niall Horan is part of the famous boyband, One Direction, whilst Topanga is your average teenage girl. Anything can happen when you're on an island alone with a cute boy.
