I was sitting in my cabin sharpening Riptide, waiting for the conch shell to signal lunch, when I got a summons from my father Poseidon. I put Riptide back in pen form and wrote a note explaining where I was. I taped it to my fountain then went to the beach and swam to Atlantis. I swam past the guards and went into the throne room. I knelt in between my fathers and Amphitrite's thrones. "Rise Perseus." Amphitrite said.

"You summoned me father?" I asked. "Yes. We, as in Amphitrite and I just found out why we almost lost the war with Oceanus." My father started. "What happened?" I asked. Amphitrite got a dark look on her face before answering. "Triton happened. He was a spy for Oceanus the whole time."

Wait what? I stood there shocked. "Oh." "We banished him from Atlantis and turned him mortal with no memories of us. With him gone, the title Prince of the Seas and Heir to the Throne, is now yours." I was speechless. "But that's not all we summoned you for." Amphitrite said.

"Perseus, there's something you need to know." My father started. "What do you mean dad?" "Son, I don't know how to tell you this, but once you are seventeen, you are a Primordial." Now I'm confused. "I'm confused. So Triton betrayed you and I'm the Prince of the seas, Heir to the Throne, and now your saying not your son?"

"No Perseus. That's not what he's saying." Amphitrite said. "Ok stop confusing me." "Perseus, yes I am your father, yes you are the Prince of the Seas, Heir to the Throne." "But you're a God, how am I a Primordial?" "When you were born, Chaos, the creator, came to Sally and I and asked us if he could bless you. When you were a baby, we could tell that you were very powerful. Even Chaos could tell."

"Percy, your father and I agreed so he blessed you and said that on your seventeenth birthday, his blessing would make you a Primordial. I'm sorry we didn't tell you." I heard my mom say from next to me. I turned my head and saw I mom. How could I have not seen her?! I swam over and gave her a hug. 'What is she doing here? How is she breathing underwater?' I thought to myself.

"Before you ask, me and your father agreed that she should be here when we told you. We gave her our blessings so that she can breath underwater." Amphitrite explained. "How did you know what I was thinking?" I asked. "Perseus, we are Gods, we can read peoples minds." "Oh. Ok." All three of them laughed. "Percy you asked that out loud." My mom said.

"That makes more sense." I laughed. "I really am a Seaweed Brain." "You have nine more months before you become a Primordial." My mom said. "The original Primordial of Heroes, do you remember who he was?" My father asked. I thought back to when Chiron was my teacher at Yancy. "Phandelver, right?" I asked.

"That's correct. He faded after the first Titan War with Kronos. Because you are the most powerful son I or any of the Big Three had, Chaos blessed you and named you Primordial of Heroes." "Won't old Thunder-Thighs try to kill me for being more powerful?" I asked? "Percy, the Gods know about Chaos's blessing, but there's more." My mom said. "More? How is there more?" I asked. "Part of Chaos's Blessing was that you would be fully Immortal, never Fading."  Poseidon informed me.

"But what about mom and Paul?" I asked. "Percy, the Gods made a deal with me and Paul the day after your birthday. When you become a Primordial, we will be made Immortal also." A thought came to mind: Whenever something seems to good to be true, there's always a catch. "What's the catch?" I asked. "I have to get married to someone by a certain time, or what?"

"Percy, there's no catch." My mom said. "I swear on the river Styx." Thunder rumbled and my mom was still there. "However Percy, Riptide can not handle the power of a Primordial. It is meant for a Half-blood to use, it is not strong enough to be used a as a symbol of power." "If I can't use Riptide what would my symbol of power be?"

"I asked Tyson to make a prototype of a new sword for your symbol of power. It will take a few months to design and then a few more months to make. At that point, I will take the prototype to Hephaestus to forge, as he is the Blacksmith of the Gods." "Oh. So what do I do with Riptide if I can't use it?" "Is there anyone you can trust that you would like to give it to?"

I thought for a bit. "I would like to return it to Zoë." I said after a few minutes. "Are you sure?" "Yes father. I'm sure. She made it, so it should go back to her." Poseidon was quiet for a few minutes with a weird look on his face. "Ok then, when you become a Primordial, you may return Riptide to Zoë. In the meantime you should probably get back to Camp before people think you are missing."

I hugged my mom and dad, then said goodbye to Amphitrite then swam back to camp. As soon as I got back to Camp, I heard "HE'S BACK!" Everyone ran to the beach and started swarming me. Annabeth ran up to me and slapped me. "OW!" I yelled. "WHERE IN HADES HAVE YOU BEEN? NO ONE HAS SEEN YOU FOR HOURS!" Annabeth screeched.

"I got a summons from my dad so I went to Atlantis. Did anyone check my cabin at all?" I asked. "I left a note on my fountain explaining everything." "Well I looked in your cabin but I couldn't find you. I saw the note, but I thought it was from your dad so I didn't read it, for a child of Athena that was pretty stupid of me not to check the note for a name." Annabeth explained. I face palmed. "I'm not a Seaweed Brain all the time. I have my smart moments too." I said.
