13: A Way Back

The car stopped in a big, stone building called a parking lot. I was quite intrigued how big it was. There were countless of white stripe on the floor, showing what was a parking spot and what was not. All the people looked at us. Ruby's mom, who apparently is called Jade, said it was because of out clothes. We went into the first store and we all started looking around for clothes. These clothes were really odd to me and I didn't know what I liked or what my 'size' was. Eventually I found nothing, but Mason, Aeryn and Aluxio did. We went from store to store until we all had a few sets of clothes. I was actually really happy with what I had chosen. We quickly went back to Ruby's house and we all got changed. I was wearing a lose pair of black jeans, apparently called baggy jeans. I had a dark green, plain sweater and a pair of black 'sneakers'. I looked in a mirror and I looked amazing. I smiled and walked back ti the kitchen. I saw that Aeryn, Nessa and Luna were already done. I couldn't help but to let my jaw drop when I saw Luna. She was wearing a light blue dress covered with flowers. It was made of a thin fabric and it had something called a v-neck. She looked gorgeous. She looked at me and I quickly closed my mouth. I smiled at them and sat down next to Nessa.
"Pretty, isn't she?" She asked, grinning at me. I felt my face turn red when I replied:
"Yes, I guess." I avoided Nessa's eyes so she wouldn't find out. But I was sure she already knew.

The other guys quickly came back. When Ixeor came in, I was shocked. His hair and beard had been cut! He had shirt hair and a trimmed beard now. He looked so different. But in a good way! He looked happily at us and sat down.
"He looks way younger now." I whispered to Aluxio. He nodded.
"Yes, he does. Like he's 90 years younger." I chuckled and looked back at Ixeor.
"She looks really pretty, ay?" Aluxio suddenly asked.
"Who?" I asked.
"Luna."
"Yes, yes she does." I started smiling and blushed a little. Aluxio grinned and patted me on my shoulder.
"I can't wait until you are a couple." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, okay. Now shut up." I jokingly said. We laughed quietly.

A girl all dressed in black suddenly came walking into the kitchen. We all started at each other for a while, until Jade came in. She smiled at us and than at the girl.
"Everyone, this is my other daughter, Pearl." She said.
"Mom, are these those weirdos from 1722?" Pearl asked. Jade angrily looked at her daughter.
"Don't call them that. And yes, they are." Jade said. Pearl rolled her eyes.
"You don't actually believe that nonsense, do you?" She said. Jade got even more mad.
"Yes. I. Do." She said. Pearl laughed.
"Than you're just as crazy." She said.
"Pearl! You do not talk to me like that! Get out of here!" Jade said. Pearl angrily looked at Jade and walked away.
"Sorry for that." Jade said.
"She has been acting... different for the last 2 years. Oh well. You all look good!" She added.

We were all reading books and trying to find a way to get back to 1722. I was surprised that the world hadn't ended yet. I was trying to read, but I was distracted. I kept thinking about Pearl. I had never heard a child disrespect their parents like that. It was just... odd to me. I sighed and stood up.
"Where are you going?" Luna asked.
"I'm going to show Pearl we're really from 1722." I said. I walked out of Travis' study and walked up the stairs. I looked for her room and knocked. I slightly opened the door. Pearl looked at me and rolled her eyes.
"What do you want?" She asked.
"Why don't you believe us?" I asked. Pearl scoffed.
"Well, do you know how crazy it sounds when some random people come into your house saying their not from this time?" She said.
"No, I don't because magic is very much alive in my time." I said.
"Pfft, magic." Pearl rolled her eyes again.
"I can show you." I said. Pearl looked up at me.
"Can I?" I asked, pointing at the empty spot next to her on her bed. She nodded and I sat down.
"What element do you like most? Water, Fire, Earth or Air?" I asked.
"Fire." Pearl replied. I smiled and opened my hands. A sparks came out before a flame started forming in my hands. I used my fire-free hand to manipulate the fire to look like a dragon. Pearl looked amazed.
"Wow! That's so cool!" She said. She smiled and put her -what was it called?- headphones on. I stood up and left the room.

I walked back downstairs. Luna looked up to me and smiled. She turned her head back to her book when he asked:
"And? Does she believe us?" She asked.
"Yes." I said. I smiled and sat down. I grabbed another book and started reading.
"Ixeor? You are a very powerful wizard and yet you can't find a way to bring us back." Nox said. Ixeor sighed.
"That is because time travel is supposed to be impossible. I do not know how Servillah did it." He replied and continued reading. I was getting frustrated. How were we ever going to save the world while we're stuck in 2022?
"Wait! What's this?" Nessa suddenly said. Everyone looked up and turned to her.
"This looks like a... spell book? Why do they have spell books when there's no magic?" She asked. At that moment, Travis came in. He looked at us and than at the book. It was a thick, old, brown book and the cover had been damaged. The letters on the front and the side were faded, maki git impossible to read.
"That's not my book... how did you find that?" Travis sounded confused.
"Uhh... it was between the others." Nessa said. Travis looked at the book.
"I don't know it." He said.
"Well, I'll let you to it." Travis smiled and walked away. Nessa handed the book to Priscilla. She flipped through the pages. She looked concentrated while looking at the old pages.
"Here." Priscilla suddenly said. She handed the book to me. I read what the page said. It was the time travel spell. I remembered Servillah cast it. But there were two spells on the pages. One was the one I knew. The other looked like a reverse spell.
"Seems like we might go home." I said.
