Season, Shifts, and Secrets [apply fic]

Welcome to Rosevale, the expansive town comprised almost completely of summer estates belonging to society's wealthy. And once a year during the Season, between the months of April and June, people flock to Rosevale, looking for matrimonial candidates. Their goal? To be engaged or married by the end of June.

Some get lucky, and others have to wait until the next Season. But with all the wealthy families in one location, there are bound to be secrets, scandals, and gossip.

To make matters worse, when secrets are revealed, there can be detrimental consequences to one's appeal to suitors.

As they maneuver the Season, the families try their best to ignore the publication of their family secrets and to avoid ruin.

Can any family escape a Season at Rosevale without paying a price far greater than dowry?

Will anyone rise through social ranks when finding a match?

Will more couples marry for love, or for money?

hello and welcome to season, shifts, and secrets!! I'm really excited for this book, but the concept is a little confusing. here's how it'll work!

like a regular apply fic, you'll fill out a form for the character(s) you're applying. I'll use two of my own characters as well.

if your character is chosen, after I post the cast list, you'll be invited to a discord server. the server is where the interactive part comes into play.

we'll play out several "chapters," with each chapter having a certain beginning and end point (such as a social event, etc.). in those chapters, you'll have the chance to play as your character, interacting with others to find potential matches.

after every chapter, I will be sending out a "gazette," recapping the chapter and introducing the next one. throughout the course of the chapters, secrets may be revealed that could change the course of the Season.

I wanted to find a fun way to do an interactive apply fic, and I decided this is the best way to do it. if all goes well, we may even make it a "series" and play out several Seasons with different characters!

I hope y'all enjoy this as much as I do! you don't have to know much about regency era, jane austen, or bridgerton to join in.
