18:05 I has to find his position but I didn't know where to start. On the opposite side of this wall laid miles of desert and hills, finding the hunter wouldn't be an easy task let alone eliminating him.
18:10 daylight was fading my window was closing and his was opening, if it became night he could move anywhere and I'd have no idea. I needed a plan, I needed a way. I thought back to training, look for any scope glints, loose rock, shadows and shapes. I needed to draw him out but how? The same way Soldiers did it in World War 2 I propped my weapon up and placed my helmet on top of it, creating a mock soldier from there I had to raise it above the wall and watch for the shot. This has to work.
18:14 I raised my trap above the wall and wathed through a hole in the wall, I could feel the tension, I could feel the hunter lining up his prey and "BANG" he striked... 550m in a rock pile I found him, I watched him for minutes making sure he didn't move to confirm his 'kill' I was losing light fast by this point it was my move. The hunter is now the hunted.
18:21 I have him dialed in, 550m I can see his rifle and his head peeping out, not moving just scanning like a hawk. I waited until I saw his scope glint, I knew then as I pulled the trigger his eyes had locked with mine... 2 seconds pass and I see his rifle drop, the hunter is no more and like a close to a movie, night began to set in
18:45 Darkness set in, I sat against the wall, my only cover now my only basecamp. I drank and ate my last MRE Stew, the taste was as I expected awful, I think a bullet would taste better. I was planning what to do when I woke up I couldn't survive long now, no food and little water. I just had to walk and hope. If my end is ahead of me then I accept it. Devil Dogs don't feel fear.
