07:23 the sun has risen on this desert once again, heat causing me to sweat and hate every fibre of my being but I get ready to set off none the less. Ammo Check I've reshuffled the rounds 3 magazines left each 30 rounds with 4 bullets to spare I'm getting lower and lower on ammo but I have enough to pack a punch.

07:35 I'm setting off once again to scramble through this barren plain of sand and misery. As I walk my mind casts back to my squad, Sandhurst, Miller and the sergeant, I lost 3 brothers in 1 fight and I'm losing myself aswell.

08:03 No! Not again, not more of them I thought, I can't last out here, open desert little cover, there were 2 rocks... 2 rocks that were now all I had separating me from 13 insurgents, Devil Dogs Do or Die, Devil Dogs always survive I muttered to myself and I took position they hadn't seen me but the convoy of hostiles moved quickly towards me.

08:05 13 hostiles, 2 cars and a whole lot of hate for me, I had to make a choice now! Hide or fight... I already picked my option, I readied my rifle and took aim....

08:07 I watched in fear, paralysed as they rolled past me I lied down and hoped they wouldn't see me, the 2 vehicles blew past me and faded into the desert mirage, A cold sweat poured down my face as I stood up and kept walking, my eyes were now peeled my Adrenaline pumping I was ready for a fight and I want to go looking for one as well.

11:00 the heats killing me, I have no water no food and no more hope the only thing driving me forward is the spirit of my sergeant and the values of being a Devil Dog. We don't quit, we don't stop... We fight! We fight! We fight! We.... have to fight.... over the next dune lied a camp twice as big as the first camp 2 tents roughly 11 hostiles and a mortar position, they looked as if they were setting up but nothings out here. What were they going to attack?

11:34 I've been watching and waiting, no idea what their target is, no idea what their plan is but I know its 12 Hostiles and a fight I want to win! I decided to take a direct approach, take out as many as I can then press the attack from the dune. It was risky and stupid but it was my only plan and my Adrenaline wanted this!

11:40 I began to attack 30 rounds left my rifle in under a minute I was just shooting at the hostiles, I struck 5 of them, killing 3. I changed magazine, 2 left and watched as they scrambled around the camp, I shot at the stragglers, lethally striking a further 2 and then 3 more, I heard my rifle click, that magazine was also empty. As I put in my last magazine I kissed the first bullet, for luck or hope? I'm not sure buy I did it anyway. I charged the rifle and waited for the final 2.

11:50 Still no movement no shots, were they still in the camp? Were they waiting for me? I remained on my dune, I reneg on my plan to press the attack, something doesn't feel right.

12:12 That's it I'm moving in! I sweep the camp left to right, I count 10 bodies, 2 were still at large but nowhere to be seen.. then I heard it the rumble of engines and screams of a foe. The 2 cars were coming to save the camp or what's left of it. I have 1 magazine and no idea what to do... Devil Dogs don't run but I want to survive.

12:15 I decided I ran East ditching my webbing since I had no more magazines to carry I watched as they surrounded the camp and searched it inside out but they never saw me, I kept moving east in hopes I found what I was looking for.

13:00 there's something in the distance I think, my eyes blurry and my body battered and bruised it could be anything in the distance a rock or maybe is it... Oh my god it is! Camp Haven!! Home. I could see its guard posts and tall walls, the sandbags and joy, I'd never seen something so boring and yet so glorious it felt as if........

13:03 *Crack* I put my hand on my chest and felt my destination right in front of me, the blood flowed and the Adrenaline wore off, I collapsed to the floor, I can't breathe, I can't breathe! I'm bleeding, I'm... help! Please help! I laid there looking at Haven then too the sky, The Sergeant  stood beside my body, life slowly ebbing away from me and said Devil Dogs, Dismissed! I faded away, my eyes went black my destination was certain, Devil Dog returning home. The desert took everything and a bullet was my last reminder that I didn't make it home.
