A wave of energy passes over the city. Everyone's movements slow to a crawl. A horde of strange looking monsters begin to swarm the city. They begin to attack civilians, destroy everything, and cause general havoc. One of these monsters is about to attack a black-haired woman in a kimono, until a tiny car appears on a small road. It hits the monster, knocking it away. The woman slowly looks to where the car is going and sees a figure heading her way.

They appeared to be moving at normal speed like the monsters.

The figure reached down and turned a key on his belt. Then, he reached up and pressed a button on the device attached to his wrist.

~6 months later 7:20 P.M.~
It had been approximately 6 months since that fateful night. The general public had started referring to that event as the 'Global Freeze.' Every now and again, a small freeze would happen in certain areas. The police and other officials referred to these incidents as 'Density Shifts.' Or, at least, they would if they actually believed them. They only adopted the name to humor the public, who refer to the incidents as 'Slowdowns.' We see a young man laying down in the park holding a red car.
???: It's almost time. Tomorrow is my first day back at Kuoh Academy since...
The young man remembers himself laying on the ground bleeding out and a girl his age standing over him crying.
