Chapter 2: First (Hostile) Contact

~Unknown location, Jun~

Noble 3, the sniper of Noble Team, soared through the air as he used his new Grapplehook to move with ease and being flexible can even turn corners if he tries hard enough. He had landed on the roof of a building, he looked out and saw that several of the buildings he had passed and can see have been destroyed, by what or by whom he does not know.

He turned to his head to the side and spoke "Serina, are you sure this is where the energy spike originated from?" he asked as he felt like he was going in circles, some of the buildings he has passed looked the same and swore he felt like he had passed by the same one a couple of times.

The AI answered "are you doubting my ability to track energy sources? Noble 3 I'm hurt" she sounded hurt but had a sarcastic tone in her voice "but in all seriousness, in the 15 seconds I had to lock onto the signal then yes, this is at least the general direction of the source. Though since it hasn't popped back up yet, it may have been quite far than I estimated"

"Or whatever it was that made it is gone" he looked around and saw in the distance a building of more unique design, he could only see the edges of it, but he did see what looked like letters on the side of the building. Before he decided to investigate, he updated the team "Noble Leader, this is Noble 3, I found a building that's different from the others, I'm going to investigate it"

[Copy that Jun, keep a distance and provide whatever detail you can see with your scope, wouldn't want to spook the locals with your appearance since I doubt, they have ever seen a Spartan before] came Carter's reply before speaking again, this time to Kat [Noble 2, how are you and Noble 6 on those vehicles?]

[The locals must have bugged out when whatever happened here, we have found a couple, but they are dead, though we spot what we can assume to be a police car and a civilian truck, gonna try and see if they are operational. They look promising enough]

[Copy, Serina any luck with finding anything to access?]

"Negative, the locals must be unique because I keep finding a lack of electronics yet am able to detect faint traces of an unknown energy, whatever it is I can assure you I'm doing what I can with what I have. May have to find an access point that has not yet died or damaged"

[Understood, keep trying. Noble 4 and I are exploring the area to see if we can find anything that may help us learn of any events to form a timeline]

"Understood, I will report back when I have found anything of interest" Jun stated as he cut off communications and used his Grappleshot at the edge of a building and was pulled towards it, he grabbed onto the ledge and pulled himself up. As soon as he got up and got a good view of the building, he asked Serina.

"Serina, can you do a scan of the letters? I do not know why but they seem familiar" he saw the building had a large parking lot where several vehicles were parked, some looked old, and others destroyed.

"Give me a minute Noble 3, I am tracking an unknown vehicle, several in fact." as soon as she said that the super soldier had heard the sounds of tires screeching and engines roaring, he looked down a road and saw what looked like a convoy of vehicles, black colored and were quite a few vans.

"Noble Lead, situation has changed. Serina and I have spotted a convoy of vehicles head towards the south pass by the building, advise over?"

[Copy that Noble 3, just stay there and keep watch, notify us if there's any more development, Carter out]

"So, nothing much. Hmm... Serina any luck on deciphering the language?" Jun asked the AI as he kneeled and aimed his rifle at the approaching convoy, not gonna do anything rash but just watch whatever was going on, he had no idea why they were here but that's his job. It would help even more if the AI can translate the language.
