"17. Butterfly'

A butterfly fluttered its wings in a wind thick with the smell of seaweed. His dry lips felt the touch of the butterfly for the briefest instant, yet the wisp of wing dust still shone on his lips years later."

-Ryūnosuke Akutagawa

. . .

summer spreads its wide wings to share the sun throughout the land. people frolic and bask in the light provided to them by the season that is adored by so many. as one sits back and enjoys the weather surely no one has the thought, 'when will fall arrive?'

but i was always waiting for you in the bright seduction of the summer breeze. sitting all alone, patiently, waiting to be found. a gust of cold air blows past my ear.

autumn's coming.
