New Mission

Nikita Scarlett is an agent, as simple as that. She's been an agent for the last 8 years of her life, never anything more or less. Her whole life was dedicated to her job as an agent. Hell, she even worked in the club that was cover for the whole secret agency, which is why nobody knew it existed called the Earth's Protective Services. People think E.P.A. is a club by the name of Elora Panda Appeal, when really all the staff members are highly trained agents that will kick your ass in two seconds flat. One of her favorite words in this industry was "You've Got a New Mission." These words always filled Agent Red with new excitement and joy.

Nikita has never had an easy life. Her past was not something she wanted to discuss with anyone. Only one person knew of her past, and that was her platonic soulmate, Archer Obsidian. All she really ever says when someone asks about her background is that her name is Nikita Scarlett. She lost her parents when she was 6, and she was originally from South France before moving to Paris, but there was more to her past than that. There were painful things she never liked to talk about, and these things caused her to have some... issues. She never wanted this hard life for anyone else, so she wanted to help rid the world of the evils in it. In hopes of giving many better lives and saving many lives. As sappy as it is, she loved hearing she had a new mission because it was one more way to help make a few people's lives better. Not that she'd ever admit it to anyone else; it was way too sappy for a secret agent, but allas it was true.

Nikita felt that same excitement when she was sitting in her boss's office alongside her partner, Archer Obsidian, also known as Agent Black, and was told they were given a new mission. Their Chief, Lilith Elora Denali, handed each of them their own separate mission files. This part was the most important part, besides the mission itself, the details. "This mission may sound simple, but as always, it's not," Lilith said, pausing to look at the two who had their attention focused solely on her. Agent Red and Agent Black both nodded at this part. The missions that sounded easy were never "easy". There was always some higher risk. "This mission takes place in New York, and at the time this mission takes place, you will both be in an apartment in Manhattan." Nikita and Archer looked at each other, both slightly smirking. They'd always wanted to go to New York but never had the chance.

"It will take you a few hours to fly to your destination, which will give you a little time to settle in and prepare for your mission." Lilith explained as she read out the file. "Now comes the most important part," Lillith said, looking up from the file and looking into the two agents' eyes. "The actual mission," Lillith said before a small smirk formed on her face, "the fun part." Archer let out a loud laugh while Nikita's lips subtly lifted in amusement, she chose not to show much more emotion than that, which was usual, but they can't say she's wrong. The actual mission is the fun part. You can't say you don't get your adrenaline pumping or just this rushing feeling of being alive in this line of work. It might sound strange or crazy, but it's true.

"Tonight, there will be a S.H.I.E.L.D. Party. I expect the two of you to be there at 6 pm. There you should spot Asher Knox, also known as the Midnight Assassin. " Archer and Nikita both sucked in a small breath in shock. The Midnight Assassin is one of the most dangerous assassins in the world. There have been quite a few agencies that have tried to go after him, but none have ever succeeded. Nobody even knows if the agents are dead or not. They just never return from their mission, and their bodies are never seen again.

"As usual, Nikita, I need you to be the distraction." This made Archer shift. He hated it when Nikita was the distraction because, even though it may not seem like it, that's more dangerous than any other part of the job because she has to portray her part perfectly or she will end up the first one people shoot. Even though Nikita always plays her part perfectly, the man still couldn't help but worry about his platonic mate. "Can't we have someone else be the distraction?" Archer asked. He hated it because deep down he already knew the answer, but he couldn't help but to ask.
