~Chapter 12~

~Y/N POV~

Today was the day. The day of the sports festival. I could barely sleep. I was so nervous. Zu had went home so he could get everything ready and talk to his mom last night. I started getting ready. Putting on some pretty makeup cause I had to look good but not too much makeup. Fixed my hair but not too much cause it was gonna get messed up anyways.

As the time to leave neared I got more and more nervous. I packed a few more things and put some fresh coffee in a special cup with a lid. I sipped on it a little and it was nice and warm. It gave me a little more sense of comfort. I texted Zu and asked him if he was almost ready.

Zu: Yeah I'm about to head your way. I'll be there in just a minute!

Y/n: okk cool

I also texted my friend Naty.

Y/n: heyyy you excited for today cause i'm fucking not

natyy: BRO IM FUCKING TERRIFIED OMG JEHDJSX

Y/n: LITERALLY ME OMG IM GONNA JUST DEATH ONCE WE GET ON THE FIELD

I giggled a little and said goodbye to my mom and she started going on about how I need to be super careful this and that she's gonna worry. "Momm Im gonna be lateeeee", I said concerned. "Ok ok no doing anything stupid. I'll be watching you the whole time missy". she said.

I quickly ran out the door and accidentally  bumped into Zu. "OH IM SO SORRY!" I say in embarrassment and concern. "It's okkk I'm fine.", he says reassuringly.

We start walking towards the school and he tells me encouraging things and I do the same. As we get to the school we go change into those other uniforms. I wait for Naty to get there and we start freaking out. She's been telling me all about this guy and how they've been talking. Then she tells me it's Denki.

"DENKI!?", I blurt out confused as hell. "YES BUT SHHHHHH!", she says. "Awwwwwwwwwww", I say to tease her. "STOPPPP STOP ITTTT", she says embarrassed. I do a evil giggle and she looks at me with suspicion, I wink at her.

We get changed and make our way to the waiting room. As we walk in we go off to the side to talk some more. I started quietly teasing her about her little boy crush. And she got so flustered.

"Aww mann I was totally hoping I could wear my costume!", Mina says as Ojiro replied with "At least everyone will be in uniforms. That'll keep things fair right?". All of a sudden Iida busts in the room like nobody's business and yells. "Everyone get your game faces on! We're entering the arena soon!". Soon after that Todoroki called out Izuku and started basically a declaration of war.

I won't lieee. He's kinda cute. Zu came right back at him and I was silently cheering him on. After that I went up to Zu and gave him a thumbs up. He looked at me questionablely and I said "Good job on standing up for yourself!". He blushed and just started doing his embarrassment mumbling again.

We get called to the arena and my nervousness really starts kicking my ass. I feel myself start to shake and curse myself for once again, looking like a psychopath.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around to see. Ah yes Katsuki the hothead. "Hey dumbass you're gonna do fine. Just show everyone else you're better and that you're stronger. I'm also looking forward to crushing you so don't lose too early, Got it?", he says with pride and slight smirk on his face. He puts his hand on my shoulder and looks into my eyes waiting for a response. I try to process what had just been said because my mind was all over the place. Once I grasp what happened I smile and say "Thank you Suki" as I put my hand on his lightly. The nice moment is ruined when he goes "What kind of dumb name is that".

Like bitch what.

You were literally just being nice. You know what fuck you.

"Your dumb name now so get over it boom boom boy", I say as I end the conversation by walking to my bestie. As we get to the actual arena I start shaking violently. But Naty quickly locks arms with me to keep me steady and to comfort me. All I can hear is the screaming fans and Present Mic yelling into the intercom.

We walk up to a stage where Midnight stands there. She yells something about a pledge and Suki starts walking up on the stage. Was he gonna give a pledge? Oh lord I can only imagine what he's gonna say. He pauses and then says "I just wanna say, I'm gonna win". Bro. You did not just- Everyone starts screaming at him angrily. I see him put a thumbs down and then steal a glance at me. As Midnight explains the challenge I start pumping myself up and put myself into blockout mode.

Blockout mode is what it sounds like. It's where I completely shut out all the people watching me and focus solely on myself. It makes me forget my anxiety and nervousness. Though it comes with a downside of course. It causes me to not feel the anxiety yes but once I get out of that mode it all comes rushing. When I do this mode I usually wait until I get home to release it so I won't be in front of people because sometimes it gets pretty bad.

Blockout mode activated.

As I'm standing in the entrance waiting for the countdown I feel my worries fade. My mind is quiet and calm, while everything around me is bustling and energetic. When the countdown stops I immediately use my kagune to hold myself between the narrow hallway and make my way to the exit. I manage to get out right before Sho freezes literally everyone in the hallway.

Damn bro that's tough.

I see a few of my classmates make it out as well. Katsuki doing his usually screaming. I stop my quirk and just start running. We come up on these huge green robots. People start freaking out and I just sit there looking at them. If I wasn't in blockout mode I'd definitely be shaking in my boots right now.

Sho starts freezing them and I start looking for a safe route to the other side. I hear him say "careful i froze them while they were off their balance." I sprint behind him and watch my back. I was always a good runner, never good at group sports though. He sees me behind him and gives me a small smile. Yooo he showed emotionnn that's crazy.

I hear a lot of commotion behind me and see robots falling left and right. I look ahead and see this crazy looking area in front of us. It's deep and only small platforms with ropes all attached everywhere. If there's one thing I'm bad with its being clumsy. I don't have balance for shit.

I activate my kagune and reach it to each platform to advance. I see Sho freezing the ropes to get across and not long after I see Katsuki screaming overhead. Again. I make it to the other side and start running again. God damn bruh what is this a freaking marathon or what.

We get to the next one and there's a bunch of weird spots on the ground. I hear Present Mic start going on about how they're bombs. I see Sho carefully going around the bombs and he looks lost in thought before Katsuki makes his entrance.

"HA ha! It's over. HAAA!!", he screams as he blows past Sho. "BASTARD! Your declaration of war, WAS TO THE WRONG PERSON!", he keeps on.

I see Zu pile a bunch of bombs in one place and jumps on them. Bro was sent to the atmosphere. Not really but you know. He gets launched into first and Katsuki is on his tail screaming AGAIN. "DEKU WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING HUH?!!". Sho starts freezing the ground and running on the bridge he created.

They all end up lined up and Zu uses Sho and Katsuki to get further by smacking the ground with the metal plate. The bombs underneath pushing him forwards. He hits the ground and starts sprinting.

Zu ends up being first and I come out 4th. I catch my breath and go up to Zu. "You did good.", I say calmly and walk away to Sho. Zu gets a strange look on his face and gets kinda concerned. I would normally be acting super anxious right now. "You did good.", I say to Sho and again walk away. I repeat the process to Katsuki and go to where the girls are. They're all complaining about how tired they are and I just stand there making sure my heart rate is normal.

This is gonna be an eventful and tiring day.
