Hope Mikaelson's breath grew heavy, her chest burdened with pain. In the midst of painting, she was abruptly transported to a medieval village, donning attire from her father's era. Amidst the desolate surroundings, only Hope and a weeping young girl remained. Concerned, Hope reached out and gently placed her hand on the girl's shoulder, asking, "Are you okay?" Through tearful sobs, the little girl lamented, "Daddy's not here." As Hope was pulled back from the vision with a gasp, the weight of the experience lingered.
When she opened her eyes she found herself on the floor with her head on her father's lap as he sighed in relief when his daughter opened her eyes. "Hope what was that?" Hayley asked as she had a worried frown on her face. Hope glances around her family before looking right back at her father. "Dad?" she whispered. Klaus caressed her hair. "I'm right here little wolf," he assured. "I'm having these visions lately, about a girl sobbing about her dad being gone," Hope informed. Klaus looked at his daughter and then at his elder sister. "Freya do you think that you can find out about the girl?" he asked.
Freya nodded as she walked towards her brother and kneeled beside her niece. She gently grabbed her niece's hand. "You ready?" she asked receiving a nod from Hope. Freya chanted a spell in ancient Latin and shut her eyes. She opened her eyes and found herself in her teenage clothes. She roamed around the village before crossing path with the same girl Hope was talking about but she wasn't alone this time. A brunette teenager had her arms around her as she tried to shush the crying girl. "Hush little Melody . I'm right here," she said.
Freya started to cough uncontrollably as she was pulled out of the vision. Keelin immediately rushed over her and patted her back. "Are you ok?" she asked. Freya sighed as she started to breathe back normal. "I'm fine," she assured. Klaus frowned at her mostly worried about his daughter. "Freya who did Hope see?" Klaus asked truly concerned. Freya looked at them with a confused frown on her face. "It was a little girl whom I guess is named Melody," she said. Everyone except Hayley, Keelin, Hope, Davina, and Freya stiffened at the name. "And from guessing the look on your faces it seems like you know exactly who she is," Freya said.
Elijah gulped the lump in his throat as despair filled his eyes. "She used to be an old ally. We don't talk about her anymore," he informed. Hope glanced at his father who was burning wholes on the floor and it seemed as he was forcing tears to stay back. "Dad who was she to you?" she innocently asked. Klaus looked at his daughter and allowed a tear to fall down his cheek. "Melody was," he cleared his throat. "Melody was my daughter back in the day," he confessed as part of his sibling's face fell.
"What do you mean by you had a daughter back in the day?" Freya asked. Tears began to fill up Rebekah's eyes as she saw her brother's remorseful face. "She was the daughter of mine and the village's most beautiful women. Her name was Liana Dream and I was completely and utterly in love with her. Sadly she died 4 months after Melody Esther Mikaelson was born." he said smiling at the memory of holding his daughter in his arms. "When she was 8 years old when our mother turned every single one of us. The monster of the man we used to call our father actually loved her so he refused to turn her into the abominations he thought we were so when he started to hunt us down we had to leave her behind," Klaus said. "We never even saw her shadow after that fateful day," Kol added.
