Loud sounds of metallic clanging and liquid flowing filled the chamber. In the inner chamber, John looks around the room, he notices a trap door opening at the ceiling dropping a glowing orb, the orb shuffles around the room at super speed. It scans John Rogue with a beam of light, the orb then moves to the middle of the room where a small stage rises, it begins to glow even brighter and start to shift and manifest into something.

John asks Crow, "What is this?"

Crow answered, "It will be mine," he said. "Do you believe in 'End Theory'?" He asks.

John, still puzzled about his current circumstance answered "Yeah, supposed to be a theory where magic is diwindilling and will disappear, that's all I know."

"Yes, that is why you will die here." Crow stated

John asks intriguingly, "Where did that hostility come from?"

"The power that will be mine after I take it over your corpse is fueled not by mana, not by magic, but by blood! You will fail because you have become reliant too much on magic. This is what happens when Knights rely too much on magic, they call people WITHOUT magic, 'useless' and 'trash,' and when I finally control both blood and magic they will all fear me, as I feared them."

Although John suspects something isn't right about Crow's statement, specifically the part where Crow said "As I feared them," as he can hear a small hesitation as Crow said it, he still listens to Crow. Perhaps a clue or a hint might be spoken.

Crow explains further that the chamber is part of a "trial" to see if the challenger is worthy of its "reward." He also explains that in a similar chamber located in the far east, there was a trial like this, that is where he gained the power to manifest crystals of magic on his own body.

"All you need to do is to kill the guardian, simple right? Fortunately not" He laughs with echoes reaching the inner chamber, "It has begun, soon you will be drained of magic, like I was in the other trial, it will be a disadvantage for you, unlike me who had little to no magic at all, therefore I was able to kill the guardian with ease."

Again, John felt that Crow was lying.

John felt his mana drained from him, he can no longer conjure any magical attacks, even though he does not rely on magic often, it will still be a major disadvantage because of his unfamiliarity of fighting without magic.

"Just lie there and die, It'll be over before you know it." Crow mocks John

John hearing the remarks and comments of Crow made him enraged, he wasn't planning to fight nor was he planning on taking the "reward" but because of Crow's constant bickering and prideful remarks he has become determined to ruin Crow's day.

"Let me tell you something, Big Bird!" John said, "My magic is... different"

Crow becomes interested and asks "Explain, how would your powers help you in your dire situation"

"Well you see, the magic I was born with is called 'Mastery,'"

Crow listens ever more closely and attentively

"If I use a tool or a weapon or both, basically anything that can be used in any way, I can easily master it. It's a type of magic that is not mana based."

"That means, what?" Crow asks

John continues, "Since this inner room has lots of weapons that I used before getting mixed up in this whole shabang, I won't need mana to use them. In short, I'm not relying on magic to win this fight."

John picks up a sword and a shield from the many weapon racks around the room and prepares to fight the beast that he will have to face.

The orb finishes morphing and reveals its final form.
