Kai's pov

I was on my way to go and pick my son, Jude, up from school. Me and Y/n had been taking it in turns lately, not going together like we normally would because it somehow ended in an argument.

"Hey buddy" I said to my Son who had just ran over to me.

"Dad!" He said, hugging me tightly, like he always would.

"How about me and you go for a kick about?" I asked him, to which he nodded.

We walked to my car and I helped him get in so we could go to the park and play football.

"Dad, do you still love mummy?" He asked me, a question I never thought I would hear him ask.

"Of course I do, what would make you ask a question like that?" I asked him.

"When you put me in bed the other night, I heard you and mummy arguing" He told me, looking upset.

"Don't worry about that Jude, we were just having a chat" I told him, trying to brush it off.

"Why were you both shouting at each other then?" He asked.

"We just had a disagreement that's all" I said, keeping my eyes in the road.

Y/n pov

I heard the door open, I knew it wasKai and Jude finally coming home.

"Mummy!" Jude said, running into me, making me smile.

"Hey sweetie" I said, hugging him tightly, not even looking Kai in the eyes. "I'm gonna finish doing dinner, do you want to help?" I asked him.

"Yeah!" He said sweetly, following me into the kitchen, Kai still looking upset.

I began filling a pan up with water while Jude sat at the table.

"Mumny?" He asked me.

"Mhm" I hummed while out the pan on the stove.

"Do you still love daddy?" He asked me. A question that nearly made me drop the pan on my foot.

"Yes, of course I do, why sweetie?" I asked him, going to sit at the table with him.

"I keep hearing you arguing with him" He said, pouting.

"Oh Jude, I'm sorry, sometimes mummy's and daddy's argue though, don't worry we will be fine" I reassured him, hugging him so he knew everything was okay.

"Do you need any help with that?" Kai asked, referring to the cooking I was supposed to be doing.

"Uh yeah, thanks" I said as he went over to the stove and turned it on.

"We need to sort this out y/n" He whispered to me, so Jude couldn't hear us.

"I know we do" I whispered back, chopping carrots at the same time.

"You know I love you right?" Kai said to me, trying to gain eye contact with me.

"I know, I love you too" I said, but still not looking him in the eye.

"All I want is for us to stop arguing" Kai whispered while Jude was busy colouring.

"Me too, but it's hard when we're disagreeing on almost everything" I said, sighing, him knowing I was right about this.

"I know, I know" He said, walking away from me now.

"I think it's time for bed mister" Kai said to Jude, picking him up which made him giggle.

"Can you both put me to bed today?" Jude asked, making Kai look at me hopefully.

"Of course" I said following them up the stairs to his bedroom. He got into bed while Kai shut his curtains for him.

"Goodnight love" I said, kissing him on his forehead.

"Goodnight little man" Kai said with a smile as we both headed for the door.

"Wait" Jude quickly said, making us turn round. "You two have to kiss before I go to sleep" He said with a giggle, making Kai giggle.

"If you say so" I said with a smile, kissing Kai, something that felt nice, to finally feel it again.

Jude giggled and we said our final good nights before turning his light off and closing the door.

"Well that was nice" Kai said as we both went down the stairs.

"It was" I said with a smile, finally looking him in the eyes, before he went in to kiss me again.
