(Dad imagine)
Me and Mason had had a talk a couple of days ago about him and our son Sydney. We were talking about the fact that they don't bond enough. Sydney was a mummy's boy, so him and Mason didn't get to spend much time together.
Today, Mason was going to pick him up from school and take him out somewhere, so they could spend some father son time together.
Masons pov:
I was in the playground waiting for Sydney to come out to me."Hey" I said to him once he walked over to me.
"Wheres Mummy?" Was the first thing he said to me.
"She's not here today, she wanted me and you to spend time together, so I thought we could go play a bit of football in the park" I said to my son, who didn't look happy.
"Oh... okay" He said, grabbing hold of my hand while we walked out of the school.
I helped him into the car and drove to the park which was a few minutes away.
I got the ball out of the car and we went into the park.
"I'll go in goal you shoot okay?" I told him, to which he nodded. He put the ball down, but then he started crying. "Hey what's the matter buddy?" I asked him, kneeling down in front of him.
"I want Mummy!" He screamed, making my heart shatter. I hated how he never liked to spend time with me.
"Okay... let's go home" I said, picking him up and taking him back to the car.
Y/n pov:
I was finally getting some peace and quiet while the boys were out today, I just hoped he would be good for Mason. After around twenty minutes I heard the door open, which is when I knew what happened.
Sydney ran into the living room, where I was sat and practically jumped onto me.
"Mummy!" He shouted as he wrapped his arms around me.
"What happened?" I asked Mason who didn't look too happy.
"Well we got to the park and then he just started screaming and crying saying he wanted you" Mason huffed.
"Hey baby, why don't you just go upstairs and get changed" I told Sydney, so me and Mason could talk. He got up and ran upstairs.
"I'm sorry love" I told Mason as he slumped down next to me.
"It's not your fault he hates me" He said, staring right in front of him.
"Mase, he doesn't hate you" I said, grabbing his hand.
"Then why does he love you so much, but not me?" Mason said, looking at me with hurt in his eyes.
"Leave it with me" I told him, kissing his cheek.
I went upstairs to see Sydney sat in his room playing with his toys.
"Hey Syd" I said as I sat down next to him.
"Hi Mummy" He said, still playing with his toys.
"Do you think maybe you upset Daddy earlier?" I asked him, as he put his toys down.
"What did I do?" He asked me, genuinely seeming like he didn't know.
"Well you upset him earlier when you went to the park with him" I said, him furrowing his eyebrows.
"I didn't mean to" He said, sounding like he felt bad.
"I know you didn't baby, why don't you go and give him a big hug and tell him how much you love him" I told my son who nodded and ran back downstairs.
"I love you Daddy" I heard him say to Mason.
"Awww I love you too" I heard him say back, making me smile.
