Nancy pov

I was getting ready for tea round pollys. Apparently EVERYONE was going to be there. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. Everythings happened so fast and I'm not sure I'm ready. I was stood holding my stomach as I looked in the mirror just staring at what could have been

"Nancy, you look anxious. What's wrong
moy rebenok?" Lucia asked making me jump

"I could've had a baby" I whispered not taking my eyes off the mirror

"And you still can. When the times right and the world's safe" Lucia said walking closer towards me

"The world's never going to be safe is it?" I asked turning around to look at her

"I won't lie to you. Its beginning to look that way. Danger round every corner. But that doesn't mean we should lose hope" Lucia said as we both sat down on the bed next to one another

"When you've grown, you will meet your Prince charming. And get married. Have a heap load of kids. And be happy. I promise Nancy. You will be happy" she held my hand and kissed my hair

"There is no happiness for stalins victims. He's taken everything we have Lucia. I admire your optimism, however I can not reciprocate it. I think it's time we accept that we are now cursed to be unhappy forever" i with that I walked off

Arthur pov

I listened to their conversation. I know I shouldn't have but I had no choice. Well I did. And I'm glad I chose this one. Nancy walked out so I continued to walk down the hall as if i hadn't seen her

We all got ready and at 5, made our way to pollys House. We were the last ones there as usual. Lucia seemed angry at everyone, not replying to anyone and simply blanking us out. Nancy was trying her best to stay positive but I could tell it was overwhelming for her

"Teas ready" polly said. We all went to sit down. I sat next to Nancy who was next to Lucia

"What's it like in Russia?" Abbie, John's 9 year old daughter asked. Everyone went silent

"Nancy you don't have-" I started but Lucia interrupted

"We can answer. Russia is a beautiful country run by a terrible man. Our lives in Russia were full of men telling us what to do and how to act. But there were some good times aswell. Like my daughter, she kept everyone happy all of the time. Always managed to find the positives in things" Lucia said looking at abbie

"Where is she now?" Abbie asked

"Abbie darling, why don't we lay off the questions abit" John suggested

"It's alright Mr shelby. My daughter is living in a Palace with her father in Russia. In the country away from all the war. They live very happy lives" Lucia said. Tommy scoffed

"Got a problem?"Nancy asked

"Nancy, can i speak with you a moment?" Tommy asked

"Sure. Here, infront of everyone. Say what you need to say" Nancy said sitting back and crossing her arms, a sign that she wasn't moving

"Very well. Arthur tells me you weren't well the other night. I want to know what was wrong. I know you blamed girl issues but I don't buy your shit so fucking explain" he said getting angrier and angrier

"Tommy" ada said in shock

"I could always go into greater detail about my 'girl issues' but I sure you don't want to be traumatised" Nancy said raising an eyebrow

"Try me" Tommy said. Nancy smirked. She stood up and walked over to wear Tommy was. No need for the little boys to be scarred for life. She whispered in Tommy's ear about periods and he suddenly shot up from his seat

"Why the fuck did you tell me that?" Tommy asked

"You wanted to know. I suggest you stay out of my business" Nancy said walking back to her seat. Everyone was shocked at what had just happened. Although no one was actually sure what happened

"So how are you finding Birmingham? How you left it?" Ada asked trying to defuse the tension

"Some things have changed more than others" I said looking at Tommy

"Not my fault her daughters fucking dead" Tommy mumbled under his breathe looking at Lucia

"Not my fault you left your wife get shot" Lucia said. Both stood up angrily

"Can we all just calm down" Michael said

"Oh shut up" they both said to him

"I want you to leave Birmingham and never come back. Go back to your stalin and leave my family alone" Tommy said

"If she leaves, so do i" nancy said standing up and walking out

"Fine by me" Tommy said

"I hope you burn in hell" Nancy said. Nancy stumbled towards the door

"Nancy" I said slowly as she stumbled. Suddenly, she collapsed to the ground

"Fuck" I yelled jumping up to help her. Lucia was by her side, stroking her hair

"Get her to bed" Lucia ordered

"She needs a fucking doctor. Stop acting like you know it all" Tommy said

"She isn't having a doctor" Lucia said

"Why the fuck not" John asked

"Because she doesn't want one" Lucia said

"So what? We let her slowly die? That's what's happening" i said looking at Lucia sympathetically

"I know you want to help her. But wouldn't you rather her be safe and hate you and be ill and love you" I said holding her hand

"I'll call a doctor" polly said. Lucia nodded and stayed by Nancy's side the entire time. Even when the doctor took her upstairs and checked her over, Lucia was there

The doctor came downstairs and we all stood up in a haste. We wanted the news as soon as possible

"Nancy had a fetus that hadn't properly been disposed of. I have given her some tablets that will soon destroy the problem" the doctor said

"A fetus?" Tommy asked

"I can't tell if she miscarried or if it was an attempted abortion" the doctor said

"Thank you doc" I said handing him some money as he walked out

"I think I can explain" Lucia said

"I think you better" John said

"Nancy was pregnant. She miscarried and has been experiencing pains ever since. Somedays are worse than others" Lucia explained

"How old was she?" I asked angry

"That's not my position to say. And if anyone talks to Nancy about this, I will shoot you and believe me, I'm a better shot than all of you put together" Lucia said before going back upstairs to Nancy

"I should get her home" i said walking upstairs to get Nancy as everyone else was in shock
