Chapter Two

Quinn Percy. Seriously, fate was just shitty. Out of all the guys in her school, it was only him that fate thought wise to put as her next door neighbor. I mean next door neighbor.
At the moment she wanted to sneak to her room and pretend she was sick, her Maman saw her and said, "Oh, honey don't just stand there. Come and greet our new neighbors".
Desiree advanced cautiously and saw the Quinn's mom and Quinn himself. He looked like he could do anything to be out of there.
She smiled and the introductions went smoothly. It was already time for dinner and Desiree helped her mother set the table.
After dinner, the dreaded thing happened. Small talk. Quinn was practically not participating in the conversation. But his head came up suddenly when his mom said, "I was thinking, since you and Desiree go to the same school, you can drop her."
Desiree widened her eyes then said, "There'll be no need. Marco, my best friend drops me every morning."
Please God, stop this torture, Desiree said in her head.
God answered her prayers because Mrs Percy, or rather Georgette, as she preferred to be called exclaimed, "Oh, I completely forgot I had to be at the library for book club activities. I'm going to leave now"
She thanked Danielle, Desiree's mom and then they left.
"Hmmm, so Quinn, huh? He's very handsome well-mannered and..."
Desiree told everything to her mother and had told her about her crush on Quinn since day one.
"Cut it out, Mom. I'm already even feeling sleepy. I'm going upstairs"
"Don't worry, bebe, I'm not going to sell out your secret", Danielle teased her daughter as she went upstairs.
