A Simple Favour

     I came to pick you up this evening at 5 pm. We're sleep at my parents house tonight and going to airport early morning tomorrow

      Mix stared at those texts Earth sent him for quite some time, ergh so demanding. It's close to five now and Earth will come in no time. No need to remind him so many times, he got it, Earth mother already made a call and asked Mix to come to their house tonight so tomorrow they can go to the airport together. He refused Earth to come and pick him at first but that man had a nonsensical debate with him and eventually Mix agreed to it.

     Mix already packs his things, going through it several times in hope he doesn't forget to bring anything, not wanting to hear Earth nag at him for being forgetful. But then he remembered, oh they broke up, there's no way for Earth to nag and care about him that much anyway. Now he encountered another problem, where is he going to sleep tonight? Mix usually sleeps in Earth bedroom when they come to visit Earth's parents obviously when they were lovers. How about now? Are they going to sleep in the same room?

     Mix pulls his hair in distress. Does Earth's new boyfriend know all of this and okay with everything? He wondered all of a sudden. Hell nah if it was him in Earth's boyfriend position, he wouldn't allow any of this. Wait, does he think Mix is so out of his league so he doesn't feel insecure at all? Whoa. Mix insecure ass really couldn't relate. He always feels over possessive towards his man, well look at his man? Everyone wants a piece of Earth obviously, people always turn their head towards Earth when he and Mix out in public. The urge Mix had to poke their eyes out every time they looked at Earth intensity.

     Yeah but he's no longer your man.

     Oh the voices in Mix's head remind him, great. Sheesh. Whatever. He didn't have to think much about Earth and his boyfriend, whatever their business is. Mix couldn't wait for the wedding to be over, so that he can come clean towards Earth's family. It's not like he didn't want to be related to them anymore, just that Mix didn't like the idea of lying to them, the guilt eating him.

     Mix received a notification on his phone, from Earth saying that he's arrived. He took a deep breath and started to grab his bag and stuff to go. What should he say in the car later? No to mention the last time they met he was drunk and probably doing some weird shit at Earth's house. God. Please, hopefully everything will go smoothly.

"Thanks for agreeing to this" Earth said without looking at Mix as his eyes focused on the road. They didn't say anything much since Mix entered Earth's car, just sitting awkwardly on their carseat. Mix play with his phone trying to look busy plus he doesn't want to make a conversation with Earth, well nothing to say anymore. The soft music played interrupted by a phone call. Mix didn't miss a chance to glance at it and saw a caller id on the screen, New. Earth glared at it but he didn't pick up instead he rejected the call. It rang again for the second time and before Earth could reject again Mix answered it. Earth looked shocked at Mix action but played cool when New said hello. Earth clears his throat before he replies with hello.

"Hello Earth. Are you still at work"

"No. I'm on my way home. My parents home"

"Have you eaten?"

"I'm going to eat dinner with my family"

"Oh yeah you're leaving tomorrow right? I just want to check on you. Don't skip dinner, okay and have a safe flight for tomorrow. Take care. I'm gonna miss you. Love you"

"Okay. You too.."

"Sorry about th.."

"Why? there's nothing to be sorry about" Mix cut Earth word before he can finish it. Honestly, Mix wants to puke hearing the conversation. Damn it Mix, mind your own business please.

"I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable"

"Earth we're over. You said you don't mind us being friends. Just treat me like one of you friends then. Don't make things more awkward between us" Mix almost spat the word but he was trying to make it sound as honest and nonchalant as he can. Earth keeps silent and focuses on his driving afterwards. They don't say anything until they reach the parents house. Mix took a deep breath and courage to step out of the door. God. Action. Time to act in front of the family. Mix thinks he should try auditioning as an actor after this all over since he got a little bit of experience right?

"Mix... sweetheart. Oh I miss you" Mrs Thalita, Earth mother already waiting for them in front of his door. She smiled brightly and opened her arms to hug Mix once she noticed their presence.

"Mom, I miss you too"

"I cook your fav food for dinner"

"Mom you really forget about your own son when Mix is here" Earth shakes his head and pretends to sulk. Mix fake a laugh trying to look like a happy healthy couple in front of mother in law of course.

"I saw you every week. I always ask him to bring you but he said you're busy" Mrs Thalita complained to Mix.

"Yeah. Kinda busy lately" Mix lied in broad daylight. Oh this poor woman.

"Never mind let's all come inside"

"Where do I sleep tonight?" Mix asks Earth when both of them are alone in the kitchen after finish the dinner.

"As usual. My room" Earth replied without looking at Mix face.

"I don't want to"

"I know but what choices do we have? It be weird if you sleep on guest room"

"I sleep in the guest room after all of your family is asleep" Mix said stubbornly and walked away from Earth.

"Suit yourself then" Earth could only sigh watching Mix walk away. Mix glared at Earth when he heard Earth sigh. Why is he so miserable? He wanted Mix here so he had to Mix being pain in the ass for the rest of the trip. Serve him right. Mix looked around Earth's family house, felt very familiar.

Six years ago

"Would you like to be my boyfriend?"

Mix almost choked on his own drink with Earth's sudden proposal. Is he for real? They only knew each other for three months through an event in college.

"You don't have to give..

"YES! YES! Oh my god YESSS!" Mix nodded his head excitedly and Earth smiled fondly at him. Mix thought Earth was so dumb that he couldn't take Mix flirting. Guy is like a robot.

"Thanks. I appreciate that" Earth replied politely.

Mix wanted to jump from his seat and hug Earth to be honest but yeah maybe that's too early.

Present

     "Mix..we arrive" Mix woke up when he felt someone nudge his shoulder softly. Earth looks at him with a concerned face. "You're sweating. Is it hot?"

     Mix wipes the sweat on his forehead with his sleeve. He had a dream, he dream of Earth and his proposal to be boyfriend. Damn it. He's not in the mood to talk to Earth so he keeps mum. The reason Mix sleeps throughout the flight is to avoid talking to Earth.

     "I know you're mad but you can't give me silent treatment like this forever"

     "Can you please stop talking with me for a moment now? I know what to do in front of your family" Mix snap at Earth. Earth did not say anything back instead he stood up from his seat to take his bag. Mix followed him after a while and both of them silently walked out the plane.

     "There you two. Mom and I thought you two off to somewhere else together" Love said with a teasing smile. She's already here before them with her fiancé and came here to pick them.

     "By the way Mix, this is Jimmy"

      "Hey Mix, I heard about you alot from Love. Nice to finally meet you" Jimmy held out his hand to shake with Mix. Mix took Jimmy's hands and introduced himself back, didn't miss Earth's silence. Earth probably hurt because Mix snapped at him beforehand, Mix knew it. Whatever, it's better that way.
