Celestial Knights (Completed)

Chapter 17

Inec slowly got up and noticed burning bodies around him. His left arm was bandaged and his head was killing him. What happened? Did we win? He looked over the Sanctuary. There were still some dead and dying Hellhounds and Knights around him. He picks up a dagger on the ground and limps over to each of the Knights and makes sure that they're dead. Undine came crashing out of her destroyed house and gives him the biggest hug he's ever had.

"We all thought you were going to die." she sobs, "There was so much blood on you and we didn't know if we could do anything else. If it wasn't for you, we would have all perished."

"I was knocked out though." Inec says giving her a confusing glance.

"Zarchinox helped us," she says looking up into his eyes. Her bright green eyes were even prettier up close and he leans in for a kiss. She leans into the kiss and it felt like the world just disappeared around them.

"I'm sorry," he whispers, "for anything that I've done to hurt you."

"It's alright." she whispers back and kisses him again, "You did nothing wrong."

After getting his wounds healed by the spell weavers, he looks at the destruction that was the Sanctuary. Burning Celestal ships were all around and it would take weeks maybe even months before this would all be rebuilt.

"How many are dead?" he asks Undine.

"Not many," she looks down, "Nio was one of those that died."

He lets go of her hand and stops in his tracks. Tears streamed down his face. Even if he didn't know Nio well, he didn't deserve to die.

"And what of Mina?"

"She didn't receive one scratch," she says with a puzzled look on her face, "She's a creepy girl, but she did help us defeat the Knights."

"When do we counter attack?"

"No need." Undine says cheering up, "We're sure that this was the entire Knights' army. None of their ships nor did any man escape alive. We did it."

"For now," he says sadly, "We still don't know if this was their entire army."

"I don't care." she says hugging his arm, "For now I just want to fall asleep in your arms."

She closed her eyes and falls asleep. He carries her into his room and sets her down on the makeshift bed that he had made for Mina. He sits down next to her and falls asleep.
