"With a taaaste of your lips, I'm on a riiide..."

"Why won't they like me? Is it my face? Am I really that ugly?"

"... Of a poison paradiiise... I'm addicted to you... Uh-hu-uh, na-na, toxic!"

"I should go gay like y'all..."

Cole groaned as both Lloyd and Jay clung to him, squeezing him in the middle of the backseat. Lloyd's tonight type of drunk seemed to have settled for the sad one. His head slung over Cole's shoulder as the boy went on with his romantic dilemma. Cole's boyfriend, on the other side, was lazily wiggling on his seat, swaying his arms in the air to the rhythm of an old pop song that somehow always seemed to trigger his 'gayest' side.

Kai watched the scene through the rearview mirror and tried to keep his lips shut while Jay roamed his hands all over Cole.

"Why did I have to sit between these two?" The noiret huffed exasperated, head falling back against the cushioned seat of the car, then slapped Jay's hand off his abdomen.

"Because I'm the driver," Zane explained.

"What about Kai?"

The brunet twisted a little in his seat, enough to face Cole. "You really think it would be safe to leave me back there with these two?"

Cole sagged in his seat with a long sigh. "Yeah, probably not..."

Kai giggled. It was funny how the first time he'd met these guys he thought Jay and Lloyd were rather annoying and a tad bit childish, but it turned out the three of them clicked quick. They were excitable and funny people; throwing Kai into the mix usually worked as a detonator that unleashed even more craziness.

"Is it easier to get laid being gay?" Lloyd came back with another interesting question.

"Oh, my God!" Cole's hands shot up to his face.

Kai and Zane laughed from the front. Jay simply kept up his karaoke session with whatever tune came up on the radio.

They dropped the guys at their respective places. Kai leaned his head on the window glass as Zane watched Cole and Jay get inside the former's house, confirming they had indeed reached their destination safe and sound.

Kai didn't notice Zane calling him until the boy touched his arm. He jumped, meeting Zane's icy yet gentle stare.

"Love, are you alright?"

"Yeah, sorry... Just a little dizzy. Can we... Can we stay here for a bit?"

"Of course. Hold on, dear."

The car vibrated again and Zane drove away from Cole's street and towards a nearby park. The windows lowered, letting the cool night air drift inside the vehicle. It was great that Cole didn't live right in the center of the city. The land here still smelled of nature rather than gases and steel, which helped clear Kai's head.

Zane reached behind his seat and retrieved a plastic bottle. "Do you want some water?"

Kai stared at the transparent liquid. "Actually, yeah. Thank you."

His stomach did a flip that, for a second, Kai mistook as the typical swirl of nausea, but the boy soon realized it wasn't the case. He rarely got stomach aches when drinking, and even less now. Ever since he started dating Zane, he'd reduced the number of shots he would take when going out or attending parties. There was no need to fill his system with alcohol anymore, and he'd rather be as much aware of his surroundings as possible to not miss a single second of his time with this marvelous boy. His recent lightheadedness was most likely some motion sickness mixed with the concoction of feelings he'd been cooking that night.
