So we got to go home a couple days after I gave birth to Emma and we couldn't be happier. Our parents had visited and they couldn't get enough of Emma. They thought she was adorable.
Joe was given a few weeks off, paid, so that he could be home with Emma and I. I was happy about that because there was no way I could do this without him right now.
I was cooking dinner right now and Joe was in the living room with Emma watching a football game. I was making Joe's favorite meal which was rice, baked chicken and steamed spinach. It's weird but he had it once and he loved it.
Once dinner was done I called for him and he came to eat. He put Emma on the floor in the living room because she was sleeping and we ate our food.
We finished our food talking about WWE and Emma. Speaking of Emma. She started crying and I told Joe that I would get her while he cleaned up in the kitchen.
I walked into the living room and picked her up. "What's the matter with my sweet baby?" I asked. She kept crying. I checked her diaper but it was dry. Her bottle needed to be refilled though. I carried her to the kitchen and refilled her bottle then walked outside to the front porch. It was a really nice day out.
I sat in one of the chairs, fed and sang to her.
You're my life's one miracle. Everything I've done that's good. And you break my heart with tenderness and I confess it's true. I never knew love like this til you.
I kept singing until the song was over. She had fallen back to sleep. I heard the door open and looked up at Joe.
"You're amazing, you know that?" he asked sitting down beside me.
"How do you figure?" I asked.
"Most people would have broken by now from all of the stress and frustration with taking care of a baby right after birth. You seem perfectly fine." he said.
"Well I've had worse in my life. Besides, she's pretty easy to take care of." I said.
"Yeah." he said.
There was something bothering me and I thought that now was a good time to bring it up.
"Listen, this morning while you were at the gym I got a call." I said.
"What kind of a call?" he asked.
"It was some guy. He said his name was Darren and that he's from some sort of recording studio. I can't the remember the name. He heard my music somehow and he wants me to record." I said.
"Do you know of anybody who has a demo?"
Now that I thought about it, my parents, Mr. Meyer, Chanel's parents and Brittney did. "Yeah. Some of my family and Mr. Meyer. That's it." I said.
"Well find out from them. If this is legit and you wanna do this then you do it. No questions. I'm gonna support you no matter what." he said.
"Thanks." I paused. I looked out at the yard we had. It was just so quiet and soothing here in the country area. "You know what, I'm gonna go call them right now. Can you take her?"
I handed Emma to Joe and walked inside to grab the phone. The first person I called was my mom. "Hello?" she asked.
"Hey. Listen, did you happen to send my demo anywhere?" I asked.
"No. I didn't think there was any need to. You're doing so well with WWE. Why? Did somebody like it?"
"Yeah. Some producers want me to record." I said.
"Wow. Honey that's great news. Are you gonna do it?"
"I don't know. I just need to find out if this legit." I told her.
"Yeah. Well let me know." she said.
We hung up and I called Mr. Meyer and Chanel's parents. They said the same thing. They didn't send it out.
I called Brittney last. She picked up on the third ring. "Hello?" she asked.
"Hey. I was just wondering if you sent my demo out to anybody." I said.
"I didn't send it, no. I showed it to Stephanie though and she loved it. She sent it out." she told me.
"Why did you show it to her?" I asked.
"Because you're good. You deserve to heard. I know you can do this and be a wrestler. You're smart, talented, and capable of a lot of things. Even Stephanie thinks so."
"Thank you." I said.
"Did you get a call or something?" she asked.
"Yeah. From a guy named Darren. He runs some recording studio and he wants me to record." I said.
"Well that's great. I hope you do it because you really amazing at what you do. I can't think of anybody else I would rather listen to than you." she said.
I was touched. My cousin was really trying to make my life more amazing than it already is.
"Thanks. I really appreciate everything." I said.
"You're welcome. Give Emma kisses for me and Adam."
"I will." I said.
We hung up and walked back outside. "Well? Who was it?" Joe asked.
"Brittney. She showed it to Stephanie and she sent it out. Stephanie thinks I'm really good." I said.
"She's right. Are you gonna do it?" he asked.
"Yeah. I'm gonna do it."
"That's great. It really is."
"Thank you." I said. I looked at Emma. I wanted her to be really proud of me for doing everything I wanted to do in life. This was for her all the way.
