"Homu! Homu!! I need to ask you something!!"
A brown haired female stood in the living room of her home, where the former fire nation guard sat, drinking a cup of green tea, in order to destress from her day of work. The woman looked up to Akar, wondering what got her so worked up.
"What is it, Akar?"
Homura spoke calmly as she placed her tea cup down onto the table, keeping her attention on the Airbender. Who was beaming with happiness. "So, so, you remember that friend I was telling you about? The warrior from the water tribe??" "Yes, yes, I remember him." "So, so, I asked him if I could go traveling with him, and he said yes! And I asked if I could take you along, AND he also SAID YES!!"
Akar was bouncing excitedly, like a small child in a toy shop, however, Homura had to take a few minutes to think everything over. After all, if Homura accepted, the two would be going away from the peaceful life they've had for years. Where Homura tried to protect Akar to the best of her abilities, that would all be thrown away if they traveled... traveling wasn't safe, after all. There were risks. Quite a lot... Homura had to consider if this would be worth it.
Akar noticed the sudden silence and blank expression, and it made her stop bouncing. And, instead, look to the female with a slightly saddened gaze. "Homura...?" "I don't know if this will be the best thing, Akar." The former fire soldier cleared her throat, staring up into Akar's eyes. "Akar, you know I'm on the run due to the sudden leave. Not to mention, they want to kill every Airbender, if they find out you're alive, it'll be huge trouble. Even if we don't go near the fire nation, it could still spell trouble."
"Homu, please..." Akar looked at Homura with puppy eyes, which usually worked- But this time, they didn't. Homura crossed her arms, frowning at the laid back Airbender. "Akar-" She began to speak, only to notice Akar's expression. She seemed genuinely sad...
Homura sighed softly, then cleared her throat. "Hmph... there is one thing I want you to do before we go off with your friend." She spoke in a stern voice, which immediately caught Akar's attention. "O-Of course-! What is it-??" "I want you to train yourself." Homura spoke, leading Akar to tilt her head. "What I mean by that, is- I want you to train yourself by learning how to fight. Just swinging your fists won't be enough. You need to be trained in combat, both physical and and honing your bending." "And once I do this, I can travel with him...? But, that'll take a while, won't it-?" Akar's mood seemed to be brought down by this.
"Which is why I have a request." Homura spoke once more, resulting in Akar to become more curious. "Huh?" "I have been sending letters to a penpal of sorts, who claims to be an airbender as well. Her name is Rinzen." She spoke, slowly getting up from the table, holding her cup of tea. "Should we travel, I want to find this Rinzen woman. She hasn't given an exact location, only small clues, but I believe we can find her." As she finished her sentence, she took a long sip of her tea. Then looked at Akar.
"With that said... go pack the few things you have, then go meet with your friend. I will join you as soon as I can." Homura spoke, causing Akar to jump happily. "YAY!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!" She immediately hugged Homura tightly, then ran upstairs to pack.
Homura had smiled, then went over to the counter. Opening the drawer, and grabbing a piece of paper. Then went to the desk, where the ink and quill was. She sat down, and began to write her letter to her penpal.
'Dear Rinzen,
I have taken up your offer of finding you, me and a couple of friends will be trying to locate you. Wherever you may be, we will find you. I hope this letter will reach you. By the time you receive this, we will already be traveling. Should this be the last time I ever get to write to you, I wish you all the luck and success in your life.
Sincerely, Homura.'
Once she finished writing, she noticed a lemur in the window. She recognized it as Rinzen's lemur. "Hello there, little one. Here to pick up the letter?" The lemur shook it's head, which made Homura chuckle softly. "Here you go, just written." She spoke, giving the lemur the letter. Which was already in an envelope. "See you next time..." Her tone grew slightly quiet, but nonetheless, she gently patted the lemur and waved to it as it flew away.
She sighed, and couldn't help but wonder.
'Will we actually find you, Rinzen...?'
