Ella watched Gandalf walk over to the door. He pulled it open and yet another dwarf was behind it. But he seemed different than the others, there was an air of royalty and leadership. He had long brown hair and a braided beard. This dwarf was wearing a big furry jacket and had a pair of swords on his back. Gandalf ushered him inside.
"Bilbo and Ella, I would like you to meet the leader of our company, Thorin Oakenshield," Gandalf told them. Thorin walked over to Bilbo.
"So," he said, " this is the hobbit. He doesn't look like much of a burglar."
Bilbo's eyes widened. " A burglar?"
Thorin ignored him and looked at Ella.
"And who are you?" He asked.
Ella said her name quietly out loud. He looked at Gandalf, unimpressed. "A hobbit? A female hobbit in my company?" He asked Gandalf. The other dwarves were watching this exchange silently. Gandalf smiled.
"She will come in handy. I just know it," he told Thorin.
Thorin sighed. "Very well."
Gandalf lead Bilbo and him into the dining room with the others.
"I'll be right back," Ella told Bilbo.
She headed out the door, next door to her own house. Ella walked inside and shut the door. She made her way to her bedroom. On her bedside table, sat an old wooden box with a star on top. She opened the lid and the only thing inside was a necklace. A silver crescent moon was on it. Ella smiled. Her father had given it to her on Ella's 7th birthday. She hardly ever took it off. Ella put it around her neck and shut the box.
Closing the front door, Ella made her way back to Bilbo's house. She was surrounded by strange men and the necklace made her feel better. As she opened Bilbo's door, she heard Bofur say, "Think furnace with wings."
Bilbo swayed a little bit. "Nope," he said and collapsed.
"What happened?!?!" Ella exclaimed as she helped Gandalf lift Bilbo onto a chair.
Bofur shrugged. "I was describing the dragon to him."
Ella laughed along with the other dwarves that made their way back into the living room.
"I'll go get Bilbo some teas," she told Gandalf.
Humming to herself, Ella pulled out a cup.
"So how do you know Bilbo?" A voice asked from behind.
Jumping, Ella turned around to find Kili leaning in the doorway.
"He is my older cousin,' she told him.
Kili smiled at her. "Tell me about yourself." He said.
Ella faced him and leaned back against the counter. "What do you want to know?" She smirked.
Kili thought for a moment. "How old are you?" He asked her.
Ella smiled. "I'm 33."
Kili's eyes widened. "Really? You don't look like it."
"What do you mean?" She asked.
His cheeks reddened while he said, "Well, you're just really beautiful."
Ella blushed. Before she could say anything, the tea binged done. She poured it into the cup and walked to the living room with Kili behind her.
Ella handed the cup to Bilbo. "Thank you," he told her.
He turned back to Gandalf. "I can't just leave. I am a Baggins of Bag End!" He said loudly. Gandalf frowned.
"I'm sorry Gandalf, but I can't." He said. Bilbo sat down the cup and left the room.
Thorin spoke up. "No matter if he goes or not, we are leaving in the morning." He told the company.
"You all are more than welcome to stay here," Ella told them.
They all murmured their thanks and layed down. As she left the room, Kili caught her hand.
"Thank you again, Ella" he told her ten kissed her hand. Kili smiled at Ella then went back to the living room. Ella closed the door to the guest bedroom and leaned against it. She sighed dreamily.
I really want to go on an adventure, she thought as she got into bed.
