I knew I was different from the rest.
How I could hear the low hum of conversation blocks away, or how I knew what people are going to say before they say it.

Only, no-one ever believed me.

I mean, of course. Who would believe a snotty 6 year old with spaghetti sauce around her mouth, always a crayon to hand and only had imaginary friends for company claiming to have changed the TV channel with her mind.

I just wasn't a very reliable source.

I soon realised it was probably best I shut up about my 'super powers' No one ever believed me anyway, and what kind of name would that give me in a small town like Hawkins?

Aurelia Whitlock was never taken particularly seriously by anyone in-fact.
That was until she went missing on
October 29th 1978.

Police found it slightly odd that after reading her well kept diaries that she always told stories of mind-reading and telekinesis, but dismissed it as being 'creativity'.

I mean, what kind of headline would that be anyway?

'Local 16 year old Girl goes missing, Police follow leads suggesting supernatural abilities were involved.'

Hawkins would become the laughing stock of Indiana, and understandably so.
