Accidentally In Love

Jen ran into her room and slammed her door shut and locked it. She could hear her parents talking in worried tones but she didn't pay them any mind. Jen leaned her back against the door and let her body slide down as tears streamed down her face. Jen pulled her knees to her chest and rested her head on them as she cried.

Jen sobbed and looked up at the various pictures on her desk. She got up and grabbed one of the photos and stared at it, it was her and Kevin at the beach and his arm was wrapped around her. Jen grit her teeth as more tears fell and she threw the photo to the ground shattering it. Jen grabbed another photo of her and Gwen and smashed it as well. Jen grabbed every photo of her and Kevin or her and Gwen and smashed it on the ground.

By the time it was over glass littered Jen's floor. She sat on her bed and buried her face in her hands to cover up her cries which had escalated in volume. Jen sat there like that until it was interrupted.

A quiet knock came on Jen's door and the brunette stopped her sobs long enough to answer. "Yates?" Her mother's worried voice was heard through the door "Jen, sweetie what's wrong?" Jen sniffled and got up and opened her door then threw herself into her mother's arms. Sandra gasped but quickly embraced her daughter and pet her hair lovingly.

"For the last two years." Jen whimpered as she rested her head on her mother's shoulder. Sandra was confused and needed her daughter to explain "what?" She said, Jen, sobbed and pulled back to look at her mom "For the last two years he's been sleeping with Gwen behind my back." Jen cried and her mother gasped and hugged her close and didn't let her go.

Jen hugged her mother and started crying again. "I trusted them both so much, mom. I loved him, she was my best friend why did they do this?" Jen asked through her tears her mom just shook her head. Jen sniffled and pulled away "it's gonna be ok sweetie, you'll find someone new." Sandra said and smiled at Jen, the brunette nodded and then looked back at her room. "I gotta get that cleaned up," Jen said then went to get the broom.

Jen returned with the broom and an empty box. Jen picked up the broken frames and put them in the box then swept up the glass. After it was cleaned up Jen went to her closet and started to look through it. Within five minutes Jen had gathered two shirts, five dresses, and one hoodie all given to her by Gwen or Kevin, and put them in the box. Jen gathered up every last gift or knick-knack the two gave to her and put it in the box.

After it was done Jen stuffed the box under her bed and laid down. She curled up under her blanket and started crying again. Jen cried for three hours until she passed out.

Jen woke up early the next day and looked at her clock. Jen hummed "she should be up." Jen said then reached for her phone and started scrolling through her contacts. Jen smiled as she found the one she was looking for and hit dial. Jen waited with the phone to her ear until she heard the cheery high-pitch voice of her cousin. "Hey, Jen," Lucy said "Hey Lucy," Jen said "Hey I heard about you and Kevin I'm so sorry," Lucy said and Jen became confused "wait how did you find out?" Jen asked "Gwen has been posting all over social media about it." Lucy said, Jen, groaned "well isn't that swell...hey do you wanna meet up and grab breakfast then we could do a little shopping." Jen heard Lucy screech in excitement before hanging up.

Jen sighed and got up and put on her usual outfit. Jen put her hair in a ponytail and then grabbed the box from under her bed. Jen opened it and then grabbed the jewelry and knick-knacks and sent Lucy a text to meet at the pawnshop. Jen grabbed her wallet and headed out to meet her cousin.

While Jen waited for Lucy she pawned the items she brought and wound up with seven hundred dollars. As Jen counted the money she was tackled into a hug. "Hey, Jen!" Lucy said as she got off her cousin and pulled her to her feet. Jen hugged Lucy and they started walking "so where do we wanna have breakfast?" Lucy asked putting an arm around Jen and pulling her close.  Jen thought then smiled "let's go to Mrs, Pepa's!" Jen exclaimed and Lucy nodded "I love the crapes they make." Jen said and Lucy giggled "I like the chocolate mounting pancakes." Jen smiled and grabbed Lucy's hand "let's hurry before it gets packed." Jen said and started to run while Lucy skipped.

Once at the restaurant, the girls sat by a window and looked at the menu. Once their waiter showed up Jen ordered a chocolate strawberry crepe with chocolate milk and bacon. Lucy ordered a raspberry breakfast cake with bacon and strawberry milk.

"I can't wait to get to the mall and give you a makeover," Lucy said, and Jen smiled "your gonna make Kevin regret cheating aren't you?" Jen asked with a knowing smirk. Lucy scoffed "heck yes I am no one any the entire universe gets to break my baby cousin's heart." Lucy said crossing her arms and pouting Jen giggled and looked at Lucy "I'm so lucky to have you." Jen said and Lucy's pout turned into a smile.
