Class was over with by now right? Ladybug and Chat Noir usually met for patrol thirty minutes after School ended, that's how Adrien remembered.

Because he was out for the day, Chat decided he would go out early to start his rounds.

Nothing much happening around the city other than the normal traffic during this hour. That was until he noticed an elderly lady seemingly to fumble over her groceries.

"Hello Ma'am, are you in need of assistance?" He asks as he walked over her. She turned upwards as her wrinkly but sweet smile greeted him.

"Yes could you help me cross the road? I left my glasses at home and can't see very far ahead of me." Her gentle voice almost as warm as a fire burning on a cold winter night.

"Of course" He takes the groceries in one arm and takes in the hand of the lady of the other.

They cross the busy road which happened to be the most congested during this time. On the other side of the crosswalk was a woman parked on the curb.

When her eyes met with the two, she immediately seemed relieved.

"Mom! I got worried you were supposed to call me once you were done shopping"

"I'm sorry Dear, my phone seemed to have died and I had no way to reach you. Thankfully this young man was here to assist me"

"Just doing my job ma'am"

The younger women looked up at him, "Thank you Chat Noir"

"No pro-"

Chat suddenly lost his balance as something hit him from behind. Has he went down a cry came from the source of the accident.

He looks up and sees the familiar clumsy bluenette.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng, are you alright?" He was quick to his feet as he tired to help Marinette up.

"Yeah sorry just trying to hurry home." She struggles as she tries to retrieve the supplies she bought for her project that are now spread across the side walk.

"You've got a lot on you, need me to help carry anything?" Chat offered as he held out the poster board.

"Nope, I've-" the bags she held then broke spilling everything once more.

"Got it" Chat couldn't help but laugh. Marinette's face turned red as a bit of her pride went down along with her things.

"Fine, maybe I could use a little help."

Chat smiles as he goes back into the store to get more bags.

After placing everything back into them and doubling up this time, they were on their way.

Marinette led Chat noir through the busy streets but seemed to be in a rush.

She had realized that she was way overtime of patrol and didn't want to keep chat waiting despite him being occupied at the time.

"So," Chat shifted the weight of the bags in his arms. "What's all this for?"

"A school project. Luckily, my selected partner is out, so I get to do it allll by myself." In regard of her voice being up beat, she was frowning at the thought.

A project? Oh crap, was she talking about the final project that was two test grades in the book.

"Oh? Who was your partner." He was hesitant afraid to hear his name come out her mouth.

"Adrien Agreste" she sighs. Shit. He knew his father would pay his way  for an A but he didn't think about who he was effecting as this was a partner project.

"Would you like help?" He offered. He had nothing else to do being grounded and he could feel better about being a reliable partner even if it meant being in cat ears.

Marinette looked up at him, her eyes slightly grew bigger shocked at his offer.

"Really?" She asks.

"Of course, maybe we can get some one on one time together." He knocks her shoulder playfully and she chuckles in reply.

"Sure Chat noir but you don't you and Ladybug have patrol?"

"Well just making sure you get home safely, it is part of my job" he winks at her leaning on his staff as he extends it.

They had made it to the bakery and set everything inside

"And you've completed your mission, bye bye now" Marinette tries to push him out the door before her mother stops him.

"Now wait just a minute, Marinette don't be so rude to one of Paris's fierce heroes." She side eyes her daughter.

"Here Chat noir, for your troubles with my incompetent daughter"

"Mom!"

She held out a box of freshly baked croissants. Chat was almost drooling on sight as he couldn't remember the last time he had homemade baked goods.

"Thank you so much Mrs. Cheng." He took the box.

She nods then returns back inside. Marinette stares at him as if she was ready for him to leave.

"Well then incompetent daughter" He smirks at her as he took a bite out of one of the croissants.
"I'll see you around noon tomorrow, 'kay?"

"Sure.."

He graces her with one last smile before making his way to his and Ladybug's waiting point. She would be fine without him for ten minutes. It's not like she needed him now a days anyway.
