(A/N: This story is not mine)
Credit to the ownerThe feeling of the mattress dipping as Jennie climbed out of bed caused Jisoo to stir from her sleep. She slowly opened her eyes and found that the room was still pitch-black. The time was only a little after one in the morning and she didn't have anywhere to be for a few more hours. She decided to put her head back on the pillow and fall back asleep.
She didn't give Jennie's absence much thought. She thought she were just using the bathroom or grabbing some water and she would be back in no time.
Jisoo pulled the blanket tighter around her and yawned before she slowly began to drift back off to sleep. But her eyes instantly flew open when she heard the sound of Jennie throwing up in the bathroom.
She sat up straight. The blanket fell off her shoulder and onto her lap as she flipped the lamp on and rubbed the sleep from her eyes so she could look around the room. She heard the sound yet again and quickly jumped out of bed before she rushed to the bathroom.
The door was only open a crack. It was clear Jennie tried to close it before she got sick. The light was on and Jisoo figured that Jennie probably feared waking her.
She pushed it open and walked to Jennie's side. Jennie held her hair back with one hand, the other clutching the seat of the toilet with everything she had as her stomach flipped again and again.
"Hey," Jisoo whispered softly as she knelt behind Jennie and gently pulled Jennie's hair out of her grip to hold it back in her own. "It's okay."
Jennie continued to throw up for a moment before her stomach stopped flipping momentarily, allowing for her to lean back against Jisoo and catch her breath.
"You didn't wake me?"
"I didn't want to. You had a long day and you've got another tomorrow. I didn't want you to stay awake with me half the night when I'm throwing my guts up."
"But I wanna be." Jisoo spoke softly as she combed her finger through Jennie's sweaty hair. "I wanna be here to take care of you. Because I love and care about you so much. Work is the least of my worries right now when you're so sick and you need me."
Jennie could give her a weak nod as her mouth began to water again.
"How long have you been sick for? Did you feel sick from out of nowhere?" Jisoo wondered and Jennie shook her head slowly.
"I felt sick when we came up to bed."
Jisoo sighed and dropped a comforting kiss on her shoulder.
"And you didn't tell me because you didn't want me to worry about you, right?"
Jennie nodded and scooted out of Jisoo's arms and closer to the toilet as her stomach began to feel funny once again.
Jisoo instinctively moved closer to her and placed her hand on Jennie's back. Jennie hung her head over the toilet and began to throw up again. This time, as Jisoo held her hair back for her, Jennie used her hand to reach out for Jisoo's. Jisoo took it into her own and gave her a comforting squeeze, wordlessly telling her that she was right there.
"I know it's horrible." Jisoo spoke a moment later when Jennie whimpered. "But I'm here. I've got you. Just let it all out and we can go back to bed."
Jennie wanted nothing more than that; to be in the comfort of her bed and finally fall asleep. To feel better and feel her girlfriend's warm arms around her.
So she let it all go, let her stomach empty as much as it needed until she actually felt it begin to settle a few moments later.
"You okay?" Jisoo asked as she brushed her hand along Jennie's clammy skin.
"I think so." Jennie mumbled and flushed the toilet with a sigh.
Jisoo got up and grabbed a cloth from the cabinet before running it under some water and then coming back to Jennie, where she brushed it all over her back and her neck.
Jennie hummed blissfully. The relief she felt was almost indescribable.
"Good?"
"Yeah." Jennie hummed and then turned around so Jisoo could brush it along her forehead and cheeks. "I want to go to bed."
Jisoo brushed a lock of hair behind Jennie's ear and helped her stand up slowly.
Jennie quickly brushed her teeth as Jisoo grabbed her some water to drink and a bucket, in case she felt sick again.
When Jennie finished and turned the light off in the bathroom, Jisoo was there to put her arm around her and lead her to bed, where she tucked her in under the sheet she grabbed for Jennie.
"That should be more comfortable than your blankets." Jisoo explained and brought the glass of cold water up to Jennie's lips.
Jennie took a few slow sips and basked in the comfort of the cold drink.
"I'm exhausted," Jennie mumbled as she pulled away from the glass and dropped her head against her pillow.
"I bet you are, baby. You just threw up a bunch, you've gotta be worn out." Jisoo said as she crawled into bed beside Jennie. "Want me to hold you? Or do you need some space?" Jisoo asked as she rubbed Jennie's back soothingly.
Jennie wordlessly moved into her arms and laid her head on her chest.
"Go to sleep. If you need anything, you know I'll be right here for you."
Jennie smiled a little when Jisoo kissed her forehead softly. Her lips lingered on her skin for a moment before she pulled away to find her already fast asleep. Jisoo wasn't all that surprised; Jennie were sick and obviously exhausted.
So she turned off the lamp and made a mental note to call off work for the day so she could stay home and care for her girlfriend. Because she needed her, and she'd never leave Jennie's side in a time like this. She was gonna be there to take care of her until she felt better again.
