Just Another Story

Julcee felt a bit tipsy and went outside to breathe in some air. She was alone in the patio. It was nice to be alone, she thought.

She could still hear the loud party music echoing inside the house.

"Hey." she felt a tap on her shoulder.
It was Karren's ex-boyfriend, Jude.

"Got bored?" he beamed at her and almost instantly she felt she liked him back like she used to before.

"No... I just... wanted some time alone." Julcee faked a smile. She didn't like what she was feeling. Besides, she already has a lot in mind. Why does he have to appear so suddenly?

"Oh.." Jude looked down on his bare feet. "I guess I should go."

As Jude stood up and was about to leave, Julcee held his hand and stopped him.

"I could use some company." this time she smiled from the bottom of her heart.

There was no denying she was as happy as she could be.

"Is something bothering you? Don't get me wrong, you're beautiful... It's just that you have this stressed vibe around you." Jude was concerned. He put his arm around Julcee's shoulder.

At first, Julcee was hesitant. She hasn't told anyone about what troubled her for the past few weeks.
But she felt like she needed to. She thought she could trust Jude.

"I...I know this might sound crazy." Julcee felt anxious. Her voice was shaking.

"It's okay." Jude held her hand to reassure her.

She let out a deep sigh.

"I think I'm being followed..." Julcee avoided Jude's gaze.

His eyebrows furrowed. He was baffled.

"What do you mean? Someone's stalking you?"

Julcee nodded. She wanted to cry.

She could no longer stop herself from hiding her true feelings.

Jude hugged her. "I'm going to protect you. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you again."

They stared at each other. Their eyes burning with desire. Jude touched Julcee's face and caressed her hair. They kissed softly. Slowly. It was invigorating.

As they were being caught up in the moment, Vince arrived with his fists clenched.

"Stay away from her!" he pulled Jude and gave him a big blow in the stomach.

"Help!" Julcee screamed in despair.

Alvin, Jude's bestfriend, overheared the plea and decided to check the patio and helped settle the situation.

"What's your problem? Are you even her boyfriend? " Jude managed to ask calmly.

"No. But please take my advice." Vince took off as soon as he arrived.

"Hey, where's Julcee?" Jude felt a sudden pang of tension.

What if Vince went after Julcee? What if Vince was the stalker? Bizarre thoughts were floating in his mind.

Jude went outside but there was no sign of Julcee.

He decided to walk to clear his mind. He was hoping he could bump into Julcee and bring her home just so he can be assured she will be safe.

As he walked past the playground, he heard someone sobbing.

"Julcee?" instinctively Jude called out.
