Zuko's perspective
"Of course I didn't notice! Or else I would have stopped and checked it out." Aang said as if its the most obvious thing in the world. Like anything he does on a normal basis makes sense anyways. How was I supposed to know this one thing about him was logical? "How did you notice?" Aang asked still looking stunned.
"Well I mean, they were pretty obvious to me, glowy little pockets and stuff." Really, I don't see how everyone always misses those, it's like they don't want to see what's right in their face.
"We never saw those at all."
"Really?" He can't be serious, but, everyone around is nodding too. What?
"What? But didn't you get help from that witch when Katara and Sokka were sick?" He had to have noticed at least that, he talked to her face to face. There's no way even Aang, lovable distracted puppy he is, could ignore that.
"Witch?" Are you kidding me? He didn't notice?
"Yeah? The one with the spirit cat? Uh, Mitsuki I think the cat's name was?" I say, but they all just stand around looking confused, like I'm the crazy one. "She made you get frogs?!"
"Wait so you got a witch to help them and you didn't even know!" This can't be for real. How unobservant can he be?!
"Well, I guess she was a bit weird, but I thought that just caused she's old. To be honest I thought she might be a little crazy!"
"Well, clearly not." Though she was a bit weird, even for a witch, I'd ever admit that to them. Especially since they already seem to think I'm crazy. "But I guess I can see why you would think that."
Sokka's point of view
"Okay wait a minute," I say. "I know that Aang may be oblivious sometimes but not even he could have talked to A REAL-LIFE WITCH and not noticed anything off. Somethings not right here." I look around at the others before continuing, taking some comfort in their confused expressions. At least I'm not the only one thrown off by this whole thing.
"In all of my years of life I've never seen a spirit and I would definitely know if I had!" I may not be that old, but there would have been some kind of indicator that spirits were there, even at the North Pole. "No one but you has been noticing stuff, so are you absolutely sure that your not the weird one here? Maybe your some kind of spiritual exception or something?" It would make sense, after all the avatar can't be the only reincarnated soul out there, right? Who says there aren't others out there with...less noticeable, less significant powers?
"He has a point, I mean I can't really say much for me" adds Toph, gesturing to her face, "but have you ever met someone else who could see stuff the same way you can?" Clearly, I'm not the only one who has doubts, but I can see Zuko's face doing something strange from the corner of my eye.
"Of course I have there was-" He starts but then stops mid-sentence, rethinking what he was about to say before opening his mouth again, only to close it again as he seems to realize something.
"....actually I don't think I have. Not even my mom ever believed me when I told her about the things I saw, like the way the turtle pond glowed at night or how the cherry blossom tree sometimes had a strange woman sitting next to it. One with branches on her head and petals around her." he admits after a lengthy pause.
No fucking way. "You've seen an elemental before?!"
"Whats an elemental?" he answers back. Are you joking right now? This boy has seen an ELEMENTAL, a being I've only heard of in the most fanatical nighttime stories as a boy and he doesn't even know what it is! How am I supposed to explain this to someone without even the basic knowledge? Um...
