~Ian's POV~

I curled up on the mattress, my left arm chained above my head to the headboard. This is the day, the day I become free. I've felt it for the last week, the burning in my chest. My powers have been building up for all these months, and now is the time. Master left the house a little while ago, I could tell by the stomping of his boots and the door slamming.

I closed my eyes and called upon my Inner Grace, the source of my powers. I sat up straight with my arms taught in front of me, awaiting the moment. I grinned a devious grin, feeling the well known sensation of the power taking over and flowing through me. My right hand, the dominant hand in my case, glowed red and I knew my eyes would be an illuminating blue. I brought my right hand to the chain connecting the handcuff to the bed and touched it, melting it instantly.

I sprung off the dad-forsaken (A.N.: Get my joke?) bed and brought my hand in the air above me, a high-pitched and reverberating screech echoing around the room. The glass window that had always been just out of my reach exploded, shards everywhere, and the empty glass of water that was supposed to last me a week went along with it.

My feet didn't touch the ground as I glided to the window, not hesitating as I sprang out of it. My powers lowered me slowly to the ground before fading, leaving me to land on my butt on the hard ground. No time to waste, I thought as I jumped to my feet. I then heard the car pulling into the driveway, making my human heart nearly stop in my chest. I abandoned all care and sprinted down the side of the house, onto the sidewalk.

I dashed away, hoping he wouldn't notice immediately. My hopes weren't answered, I heard his awful voice I was so accustomed to hearing screaming out an angry "Ian!" as he saw me escaping.

He was in the car now, driving after me. I looked back too long, it seems. I smashed into something, or someone, making me stumble to a stop. We both managed to keep our balance but then I looked up, meeting his eyes. I dropped to my knees, head down, as I was trained to by Master.

The guy scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion, not accustomed to having a chained I suppose. "Uh, dude? You okay there?" His gentle voice surprised me.

I opened my mouth to apologize for my bumping into him and not bowing faster, when I heard the voice that sent chills down my spine. "Ian! Get back here!"

His car door slammed and I knew he was running towards me now. I grabbed the guys arm, both my hands glowing in a burst of leftover power. All I could rasp out was "safe place!" before both of us were surrounded with a pale and shining blue light and my eyes drifted closed with a sudden wave of fatigue.

~

I woke up warm, the first comfortable waking up I've had since becoming human. My eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room, seeing a plain white room with a nice brown dresser and wardrobe.

I was not aware of where I was, but as soon as I heard footsteps approaching I slid off the bed, rolling under it and squishing myself as close to the wall as possible. I was shaking, I knew he would find me, I knew I wouldn't get away.

But my panic was broken by the soft voice I knew I would remember for as long as I lived. "Are you in here?"

I knew that was the voice belonging to the guy I grabbed earlier and although he sounded nice, looks and voices could be so very easily deceiving. I stayed silent. So it was quite the surprise when the guy dropped down to be at level with the floor, peering at me as I cowered away from him.

What was that look on his face? Was it a..smile? I've never seen one from a human point of view, it's quite breathtaking to be honest. "Hey, man why don't you come out here?"

I had to obey commands given, under any circumstances, because that is what Master said. He stood up and I wiggled out, only rising to the same position as before- on my knees with head bowed. "Ian is sorry. Ian has been bad. Ian won't do it again. Ian is ready for punishment." I braced myself for the strike to come, but it never did.

I felt a gentle hand on my hair, a foreign feeling. "Stand up, please. Ian, is it? Please stand up and look at me."

I obeyed. Standing and looking at him, although it broke the normal for what I was taught to do with my Master. He looked at me cautiously. "So, Ian, why are you acting like this?"

"Ian is being a good chained, just as Master taught him to be." I was not prepared for the shock that overtook his seemingly happy features.

"A chained? What is it exactly you were taught?"

I cleared my throat, returning to my previous position on the floor, "Ian was taught to kneel and not make eye-contact when being spoken to. Ian must be chained at all times, Ian must not try to escape. Ian gets one glass of water a week and whatever food Master decides to be kind enough to reward him with. Ian must allow Master and his friends to do whatever they want with him. If Ian is bad, he is punished. If Ian is good, he is not hit as hard. Do you want me to continue, New Master?" I questioned, keeping my eyes locked on his sock covered feet.

"U-uh. Ian, this is all so..wrong. People are not meant to be slaves, no creature is. Please stop referring to yourself in third person, say 'I' or 'me'."

"Yes, Sir. Ia-I must follow all orders given," I said, keeping my face stoic and no emotion in my voice, just emptiness.

''No! Ian, you have rights. But..I do have to ask.. what are you?''

My breathing slowed, silence filling the room with the question hanging in the air. "I am a human being, just as you are. But I am of lower status."

There was his sigh, frustrated maybe or confused. "I know you aren't. You're something..different. You freaking teleported us here to my apartment, you were glowing! I was going to call the cops but whenever I pick up the phone my hand is forced back down. Please, just explain what is going on." He pleaded with me, sounding desperate for the answer I was reluctant to give.

"New Master, I shall explain if you ever so wish it of me." I said, my voice strained.

"I would appreciate it if you did. And please don't call me 'New Master' or any of that bullshit, my name is just Anthony and yours is just Ian."

Anthony, my savior. I will forever be in debt, to this man who assisted in saving my life.

A.N: NEW IANTHONY STORY. My other story will remain in progress, as will this one. I have sooooooo many ideas for this story and my other one, but this chapter is very messy I will admit. If you find any mistakes, let me know.:)
