18. The farewell

Your eyes widened when you felt a nut landed on your cheek, you squinted looking to the sides without being able to see much due to the darkness of the early morning. You caught a dim light coming from the place where you used to make your things, that is, your work area.

You frowned as a screw hit the tip of your nose, the hit was so precise that made you suspect someone was doing it on purpose to wake you up. After a few minutes of struggling to get out of Luffy's grasp, you scrambled towards the spot, almost getting hit by a wrench on the shoulder, ducking just in time, looking perplexed at the cheeky grin of the redhead, who was sitting on your chair, cross-legged.

"What the hell are you doing!? Do you want to kill me?"

"Maybe."

You grabbed the wrench to throw it back at him but he dodged it easily using his power, you clicked your tongue, putting your hands on your hips as if you were scolding him.

"What are you doing awake at this time? You should be resting."

"What are you now, my fucking mother?"

Your eyebrow twitched, you resisted the urge to pummel him, but you let go, moving closer to him when you noticed he'd been working on something.

"Don't you dare use my phrases against me, what were you making?"

He snorted, giving you a blank look, he stepped aside so you could see your workbench, on it was a bracelet with some sort of compass on it, something like a log pose but slightly different.

"It's like a pager."

"Huh? Really? That's pretty cool."

"Of course it's great if I did it myself."

You rolled your eyes, deciding to ignore his ego to play with the object, looking closer you realized that the tip of the device was pointing at Kid.

"Have you made a locator that points at you? Why would you do that? Don't tell me you're horrible with directions and you need one of these to get your crew looking for you."

"Of course not, you fucking idiot."

He took the object away from you abruptly, frowning, you blinked when you saw how he was silent for a few seconds, shrugging your shoulders, you decided to go back to sleep. Before you could even take a step you felt a tug on your wrist as well as some extra weight on it, looking down you found that that little compass was now strapped to your wrist. Your orbs met the amber ones for a few seconds, you immediately threw your head back to laugh as quietly as possible, this only earned you a push, causing you to fall from the chair you were on.

"Why the hell do you always laugh at my actions? You're making me want to put a knife through your throat."

You struggled to breathe still enduring the occasional light giggle, when you got up you still denied with a smile on your face.

"I'm just surprised that the explosive of the group wants to come back here."

"Yes, I'll come back but to kill you if you keep laughing at me."

"Uh-huh, sure."

You kicked him onto the bed to rest for at least a couple of hours until dawn, deciding that you would lie on the long sofa because Luffy had struck such a strange pose that it was impossible to get back into bed with him. When you wanted to realize your house was already empty, you jumped off the sofa looking everywhere, frowning because the idiots had escaped without saying anything to you, it was for no other reason than because they stole various things, such as food or some inventions, from true, that was the least of it, you were going to kill them for not waking you up.

You ran towards the shore where the ship should be, you gasped when your eyes caught that same ship far in the distance, honestly, you would have let it pass but you had planned to give your vivre card to Luffy, since he was the only one who had no sure method to find you, with no time to lose you ran towards the cave, cursing under your breath until you managed to get your invention to the clearing where you could take off. It took several minutes, but once you got up to speed, it didn't take long for you to see the vast sea under your figure.

Inevitably you smiled widely, you could still see the shape of the ship so you chased after it at full speed, once you thought you were close enough you yelled at the top of your lungs.

"TRAITORS!"

It was enough to send the three men out onto the deck, surprised to see you high above them, you laughed out loud like you were crazy, slowly lowering yourself until you were level with the ship's rail.

"Did you think you could go so freely? My help has a price." Law raised one of his eyebrows, doubting your words "You have to do me a favor."

"Of course!"

"Shove the favor up your ass."

Law remained silent, just giving a ghostly smile as you tried to contain your laughter, he had no idea what you could ask for as a favor but he would know that it was either something silly, or something that really wasn't a problem for them , also he would not refuse, how could he do it?

"My favor is... stay alive! Now you can't die without you seeing me become the greatest inventor of the age."

"Deal! Then don't die either until I'm the pirate king."

Luffy received two bumps for proclaiming himself king of the pirates again in front of the other two, you just laughed at their nonsense, lowering your hand to reach your pants pocket, stabilizing your transport with one hand you managed to throw the paper to Luffy.

"This is for you, use it when you want to visit me." the boy nodded with his best smile, causing your lower lip to tremble, this was the farewell, you needed to return before you went further away, you began to ascend to the sky to be able to return to your home, but not before shouting for the last time "I hope that when we meet again you do not lack any limb!"
