13. Party and tag

"Meat, meat meat... ah meat!"

Luffy took a lot of meat to the cart where you were leaving all the other ingredients, Law and Kid also helped because you offered to take whatever they wanted, as you were celebrating you did not mind wasting some money.

Your mood seemed to make Luffy sick equally as on the way home you both sang a made-up song about some kind of 'party' while dancing in silly ways, you stumbled a few times and Law had to grab your shirt to keep it from you fell but he didn't seem irritated by it.

Everything went well, you had a great feast, Kid drank a lot, so much that a slight pink tint coated his cheeks, although he was not completely drunk yet, of course someone his size would take much more alcohol. It was a nice time, with some silly discussions by the three men, in which from time to time you got in just to add fuel to the fire, you ended up falling out of your chair laughing when you heard them yelling nonsense.

That same afternoon you completed the log pose, deciding that Law would take better care of it than the other two, you handed it over to him to take care of. Of course, all the good atmosphere created left immediately when you heard a loud and insistent knock on the door of your house. You frowned still with a silly smile on your face, but when you opened the door it was completely erased, now it was a grimace.

"I see you have fun around here, how much have you been paid? I also want your services, and I have not yet seen our boat completely repaired."

His hand snaked towards your chin, but you went ahead, already knowing his patterns, you hit his hand in a rude way, taking a step back, you crossed your arms putting your most threatening face, you smiled satisfied when you saw how small beads of sweat formed in his forehead, completely intimidated, it was certainly not because of you, but rather because of the three men behind you staring with daggers at the pirate who had been making your days impossible.

"T-this will not stay like that, you will pay for your insolence."

"Kay, have a good day, I'll finish the ship tomorrow."

You winked at him when you saw how he trembled in his boots, closing the door in his face so abruptly that you almost hit his nose, when you turned your smile returned to your face, just as the menacing aura of the three males became the same calm aura noticing that your mood was not broken. You collapsed on the sofa chuckling, you stared at a fixed point thinking that the tranquility of living alone would return, you were fine with that, but you were not going to deny that you were going to miss spending time with these three scandalous, you would miss hear Luffy rant about his incredible nakamas, cover up Law when he fell asleep, or watch the Kid build little trinkets from your junk pile. Hell, you cherish these idiots too fast. You hated this because you would know you would feel a lot lonelier than usual, goodbyes were a pain in the ass.

"Shit, I'm really going to miss all the fuss you guys make."

Even though it was a murmur that you didn't plan on being heard, the three of them were able to hear you clearly above all sounds. The reactions were silent, Law outlined a slight smile, certainly your company was not a bother, he liked it when you walked in circles looking at your plans and spontaneously, for no apparent reason, you asked a stupid question about medicine, injuries or diseases, you were like a cute apprentice. Luffy chuckled silently as he fiddled with one of your gadgets, it wasn't too hard to please him, he really wanted to have you on his team because he thought you were so cool, plus you cooked him loads of meat without complaint, what more could he ask for? Kid was the only one who took a few seconds to process your words, when he did his ears were stained red, you were making him look so weak for the simple fact that he liked you a little, he was surprised that you could put up with his outbursts or teasing, even though sometimes you would just try to hit him for being too loud, you weren't afraid to confront him if he was really bothering you, and he liked that.

The night had fallen quite fast, at this point you were somewhat bored, luckily for you a certain boy was in the same line of thoughts, as if it were fate you crossed glances with him, you shared a look before jumping up from where you were each one, apparently you connected the same neuron for an instant. He stretched out his arms throwing the other two boys who gasped at the sudden action, once you got out you touched Kid's shoulder screaming.

"We are playing tag, you take it!"

"What? Like I'm going to play such stupid things."

"Same here."

You looked at both of them with disapproval engraved on your face, Luffy likewise crossed his arms in slow denial.

"And here I thought you would be real men, it seems that only Luffy is, I already know who will really be the king of the pirates."

A silence settled between all of you, you exchanged glances waiting for something to happen, the growl of the redhead and the surgeon's tongue click made an invisible smile spread across your face, immediately you all fled from Kid who shouted that he was a real man and he wouldn't lose this stupid game. The darkness of the forest made the game much more entertaining, as you had to rely more on your senses such as touch instead of sight because the moon did not seem to be complete today. You were all tagged at some point in the game, right now it was Luffy that you were running from, the smile on your face couldn't be erased during all this stupid chase. Well, yes, it could.
