Story starts here

Living in a world where it's normalised to only sleep with people of the same status as yourself, it never crossed Obito's mind that sex between an alpha and an omega (or a beta) was even a possibility, that is, until he saw a couple like that out and about.

Both him and his best buddy Kakashi; an omega whom he found as cute as a teddy bear; stopped in their step at the same time, eyes wide with shock and curiosity as they stared at a couple; a tall alpha female and her beta boyfriend; walking right past them.

It had to look comical from the side how they were just gaping at them so openly, mere few inches away to the left. Yet the couple payed them no mind, didn't even spare a glance their way. As if it was all normal to lick each other's faces when you're an alpha and a BETA.

In a loss for words Obito looked over at his much shorter friend (alpha advantages) and gave him a questioning look which the smaller only copied in return, looking as puzzled if not more than the Alpha himself.

Both of them waited until the lovely dovely wolves were out of hearing rage, respectful considering the fact they were obviously judging, before both of them commented at the same time.

"What the fuck." Was all that left their mouths and while Kakashi was still in a state of disbelief, Obito momentarily snapped out just to say "jinx, you're paying today."

"Is that really whats important right now?" Kakashi rolled his eyes, turning his body slightly in the direction of the now fading love birds, arms swinging frantically at them to remind just how absurd the sight was.

And Obito shared that sentiment. He frowned, scratching his chin in thought as they still stood there observing.

"I don't get it." He hummed out, thinking way harder than he normally would but the situation called for hard measures. "What is the reason."

"Yeah." Kakashi agreed dumbly, the idea that it could simply be out of love not even crossing their mind, after all, why would a Beta fall for an Alpha, if they have so many other Beta's to choose from; simple as that. It made no sense.

Of course no world was perfect, and theirs wasn't an exception. They would hear about this kind of instances, that is, non-consensual instances where Alpha's would go wild upon smelling an Omega whom haven't realised they were nearing or having their cycle. But it was less and less common, their government took good care of providing everyone with scent blockers and anti suppressants and as the society developed and new generations emerged, people started to be more careful and there were less creeps trying to pray on the weaker. Especially considering the death penalty for rape, or castration for molestation.

But ever since the two best friends could remember, they never saw nor heard about a consensual case, unless it was a show like Dr. Hil or other reality show meant to make people look ridiculous.

Relations between people of different statues in this day and age were highly frowned upon, related to the medieval times where Alpha's ruled over everyone else. Personally Obito felt shame at the mere idea of the horrible things his kind would do, and it made him the more reluctant to ever even take it under consideration to do anything associated with that behaviour.

"Is this even legal?" Obito took his eyes off of the couple as they finally disappeared in the distance, nonetheless the image will definitely stay with him for a long ass time.
