THE DANGEROUS SIDE OF PLASTIC

Assallamualaikum wr.wb
good morning, ladies, and gentlemen.
Based on November 2021 over 300 million tons of plastic are produced and about 14 million of tons plastic end up in the ocean every year. About 80% of marine debris is from plastic which is found in deep-sea sediment. Most of the marine debris from plastic is found in marine organisms, which as fish, turtles, and corals. They are found in intact shape because they do not easily hang loosely. Most plastic debris hurt marine organisms, it happened because most marine organisms think that plastic debris was food. As a long time passed, so many champaign themed plastic pollution held nowadays. Many people are concerned about the marine organism and start to change all plastic-based stuff to something easier to decompose. On this happy occasion, I want to deliver a speech about replacement material for plastic. First, I would tell everyone here about the dangerous side of plastic debris. Then I'll mention the replacement material for plastic and after that all, I would tell the bad side of this replacement material
The first talk about the dangerous side of debris marine, the debris marine itself, is consist of straws, plastic bags, fishnets, and plastic cutlery. Marine organisms especially turtles see plastic bags similar to jellyfish, sometimes they also see fishnet as seaweed, that's why they consumed most of the dangerous plastic debris. Besides of consumed the plastic debris, turtles also can choke, sustain an internal injury, die, or even starve. Maybe some of you wondering why does when consuming plastic would make turtles starve? Plastic debris makes a sensation of being full in the turtle's stomach and makes turtles finally didn't eat and ended up dying because of starving. Turtles also can get entangled in plastic debris they risk choking to death, losing limbs, and generally injuring themselves (sometimes beyond repair).
After knowing the dangerous side of plastic debris, many people are concerned about plastic pollution that happened in the sea. People start to hold some champaign that tells us to reduce plastic materials, especially plastic straws. They together show pictures of turtles that trap by plastic straws, plastic bags, and fishnet. Some people also tell their idea to reduce plastic by making straws by recycling materials such as paper, glass, and stainless steel. They also take advantage of that situation by selling their idea while champaign the dangerous side of plastic debris. Even most of the cafés around us now use at least paper straws or decided to be strawless.
Using replacement materials such as paper, glass and stainless steel have so many benefits so far for our planet, especially the sea. But besides, using paper, glass, and stainless steel as straws brings bad influence for our bodies. First, paper straw, if we look intensely at paper straw it gets melted easily, so we can't use it for a long time. A new study from University of Florida published that paper straw contains chemicals that would link cancer and other ailments. Second, glass straws, glass is a material that is actually dangerous and fragile to use as straw, if it's broken it will hurt the oral cavity. Third, stainless steel, the safest material for straw is stainless steel. But same as glass, stainless steel also can hurt your oral activity. Our teeth may suffer from certain pain or damage when you bite the straw too hard.
Taking everything into account, plastic usage is very dangerous for the earth because the decomposition of plastic itself takes a long time. Before the decomposition happens, plastic material is harmful to earth's organisms, especially marine organisms. So, people make replacements materials to reduce using plastic, such as paper, glass, and stainless steel. Therefore, We should be wiser as earthlings and keep our planet clean by not being consumed using plastics. We have to be aware of our planet.
Thank you for your attention.
