Y/N POV
"Agh dammit," I think to myself, "it's raining today of all days." I am stuck in the worst outdoor ed class of all time, we have to go mini golfing, and now it's raining. To make it all worse my best friend Blaire skipped out again. I mean good on her for getting out while she can, but come on, she has to know I need her to make this bearable.
"Y/N! We're leaving now! Hurry up or your gonna get left behind!"
I honestly wish getting left behind was an option. I don't know why I signed up for this class, it is a waste of time. Luckily though, I just turned 18 and im graduating in a month, so not my problem for long.
I get up and run down to the schools courtyard where everyone is waiting on me already. The rain is miserable and so is everyone else, what a shock.
"There she is, my star student." says my teacher.
"Wow, I am so honoured." I say sarcastically.
"Haha, a ray of sunshine as per usual." He responds.
The mini golf course is only a few minutes away, so I suppose it won't be too bad. I slap on a smile and just giggle along with everyone else. I guess I should stay positive. Who knows maybe my day will turn around for the better.
We get going and on the way my friend Justin runs up to me. "You seem suddenly smily, Y/N." he says.
"Glass half full buddy, glass half full." I say in a joking way.
"Hm, I like this new you. A lot more cheery. And hey, who knows, maybe with this attitude you can finally get yourself a boyfriend ." Justin teases.
"If this is your version of hitting on me, it's a miss dude." I retort.
"Ha as if that would ever happen, I am way out of your league." He says as he runs off laughing.
"Asshole!" I yell up at him. Jeez the nerve this guy has sometimes.
At the mini golf course...
When we finally get there, our teacher tries to organize us into teams, but we run wild and he gives up. Poor Mr. Johnson nobody ever listens to him. It's kind of his fault though for being such a pushover.
I grab my putter and my ball and set off for the first hole. As expected it is a mindless game and yet I suck at it tremendously. It takes me 15 minutes to get through four holes by myself. "This is embarrassing. Ugh I need to make this next hole a good one if I'm going to redeem myself." I think.
I set my ball down, take a deep breath and swing with the perfect amount of force. The ball bounces off the barriers a few times and slowly roles down the slope. Then something in expected happens. The ball roles into the hole. I got a hole in one! Oh my gosh I got a hole in one!
"Hey guys!" I begin to yell as I swing around. Before I could tell anyone about my small victory I collide with a stranger and fall to the ground.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" I exclaim as I pick myself up. This is so embarrassing.
"No problem dear," says a tall handsome man. "Are you hurt?" he asks.
I stop for a moment. I am shocked. This man is so handsome with his brown, curly hair, pale green eyes, and oh my gosh that voice.
"Miss are you alright?" he asks again with concern in his voice this time.
"I am now." I say, still a little bit shocked. I can not believe I just said that to him. I am so cringy, I can't believe myself.
"Good, I'm glad. I saw you got a hole in one too, that's pretty impressive." The man said. He seems so familiar and yet I don't know from where. He probably just has one of those faces.
"Thanks. I'm actually very proud of myself, especially considering my terrible record with mini golf." I say.
"I can understand that," he laughed, "I'm not much of a mini golfer myself. Do you want to finish the course together? It might mar us feel better about ourselves to know we aren't the only ones that suck."
"Sure, that would be great." I say holding in a giggle.
"Great! What's your name by the way?" the man asks.
"I'm Y/N Y/L/N," I tell him, "What's yours?"
"I'm Harry Styles." he responds hesitantly. I know exactly why I recognized him earlier. I mean who doesn't know Harry Styles. I heard the hesitancy in his voice when he told me his name though. I won't let him know that I know who he is. I think it's be nice to give him a genuine interaction with a stranger for a change.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Harry, shall we get going?" I ask him without revealing my realization.
"Of course," Harry says with a smile, "And might I say, this rain has been quite refreshing today."
"It sure has." I laugh.
