Chapter 22. Pokemon Battles part 2.
Kiba was very cautious, he knew the creature before him had done something while under the cover of the black smoke it had released, he just didn't know what and that had him too tense and worried to make a move.
Greninja was more than happy to wait for his opponent to move and his patience payed off when he saw Kiba move to the side to find a better angle of attack only to scream in pain when one of his Spikes suddenly reappeared and hurt Kiba's foot.
Not wasting an opportunity Greninja then jumped up and waved an arm sending a Water Pulse at his opponent who was barely able to move to the side to dodge only to be hurt once again by another Spike that reappeared when he moved.
Kiba grunted and then watched as the strange water attack that was sent his way crashed against the ground and aggressively exploded, he definitely didn't want get hit by that.
I watched as Kiba stared back to where Greninja's Water Pulse exploded and saw him gulped, he then looked around for a few seconds and then frowned *he must have realized that the entire field has been booby trapped, lets see what you do next*.
Realizing that he can no longer use his speed in the ground Kiba had no other choice but take off flying, not something ideal for him since he rarely uses his wings, much less in a fight but as of this moment he has no other choice.
Kiba then launched himself as fast as his wings could carry him towards Greninja, who just stared at him since he wasn't as fast on his wings as he was fast on his feet.
I grinned as I watched Kiba take the bait and as soon as he swung his sword I immediately called out to Greninja "Substitute! and then Hydro Pump!".
Just before Kiba's attack could even get close to Greninja he used Substitute causing Kiba's swing to hit a simple looking stuffed animal which was cut in half.
While Greninja suddenly reappeared behind Kiba in a puff of smoke and then shot him in the back with a pint point Hydro Pump which not only hit him full on but carried him a good long distance away from Greninja until he crashed against a tree.
Sona frowned as she watched how Rias's peerage was being easily dealt with "... he's purposely using their weak points..".
Tsubaki heard her King and turned towards her I curiosity "what do mean?".
Sona pushed her glasses up a bit and then answered Tsubaki's question "Rean is purposely taking advantage of the obvious weaknesses that Rias's peerage have, Koneko is one dimensional and heavily relies in her Rook strength and close quarters combat, so Rean used that giant bear looking creature, since it seems to be able to absorb physical attacks quite easily and stop Koneko from throwing things at it, it left Koneko without a way to be able to attack it".
Tsubaki looked down in realization while Sona continued on "unable to attack it Koneko only had her Rook toughness to rely on but that creature did something to not only raise its attack power but it also incapacitated Koneko with that unusual loud attack taking advantage of her really high senses, after that it stopped holding back its attacks a bit and beat her down until she was unconscious...".
Tsubaki stared into Sona's eyes "and Kiba? how is Rean exploiting his weaknesses or rather which one is he exploiting?".
Sona nodded and then went on to explain "with Kiba its quite simple, first he used a high-speed moving creature to counter attack Kiba's speed and then booby trapped the whole area limiting Kiba's movements, forcing Kiba to use his wings to avoid getting damaged a great plan since most reincarnated devils don't use their wings often, after that it was all about waiting for the right moment to attack... not only is Rean a great tactician but those creatures are amazin as well and something is telling me that they haven't shown us their true strength...".
