A Short Beginning (Naruto x RWBY crossover)

Festival

The Vytal Festival is an annual event where the festivities of various shops, food stalls, game stalls, decorations and all sorts of fun activities where present. Naruto can see the efforts put into the place as he tuned out Weiss being ecstatic over the festival.

They happened to meet a girl named Penny Polendina who Naruto had noticed with his special power of Dark Vision (Dishonored) and came to the realization that she isn't human but an android with an Aura in place.

Finally, he overheard Weiss making racist remarks which angered Blake greatly. Something about a White Fang and it didn't stop until they finally went back to their dorm.

Naruto made the mistake of going to sleep early until he felt a hand shaking him awake. It was Yang who said. "Naruto, we need your help. Blake blurted out something we don't get and ran off and we need to find her."

Ruby added. "We realized that she is a Faunus because of her argument with Weiss."

Naruto sighed. "It took you girls THAT long to figure out she's a Faunus?"

Weiss' eyes frowned, unconvinced. "And how is it you knew she's a Faunus when the rest of us can't?"

Naruto ticked off his fingers. "Her bow moving, she likes tuna, her smile when I took out that bully."

Yang looked sheepish and Ruby looked embarrassed while Weiss angrily said. "You knew all this time and you didn't tell us!? We should have been informed of this."

"One, it wasn't my place to tell. Two, I can relate to her quite a bit. And three, I doubt her background would be of criminal level or she wouldn't be in Beacon right now."

"What do you mean you can relate to her?" Ruby asked.

"Because I'm also a Faunus. Does that make me a criminal too?" The fact Naruto casually dropped this on them made even more shook. Naruto lowered his head to let them see his fox ears hidden underneath his hair. They immediately believed him.

Seeing no reply, Naruto declared. "I'll go look for her alone. I have an idea where she might be and I might follow her tracks." He looked at Weiss. "You be sure to make it up with her when I bring her back, ok?"

Seeing her nod, he left to search for Blake.

Naruto continued walking around Vale hoping to find her and he did and saw a money Faunus with her. He decided to use one of his powers called the Shadow Form (Dishonored) to take out the thugs alongside the man he recognized as the same one Ruby fought when he first met her.

He realized that the way he had brutally ripped them apart in this form would've been a horrible sight for Blake but shrugged it off believing it to be necessary. The man with a bowler hat and a cane for a weapon ran away.

Naruto transformed back into his human form and saw both of them staring at him. "What was that?" The monkey asked.

"One of several of my powers. Allows me to transform into a shadow form which I could use to kill or subdue my enemies." Naruto answered.

"Couldn't you have at least knocked those White Fang forces out?" Blake asked.

"Didn't have the time for it. They were about to kill you. I'm sorry you had to see that but it needs to be done."

Blake wondered aloud. "But why would the White Fang be working for a human? It doesn't make much sense!"

Naruto nodded. "I'll find that man and see if I can squeeze more answers from him. Until then, we must go back to your teammates. They've been worried about you."

Blake scowled. "Why would they be worried about me? Especially Weiss?"

"Ruby's worried sick and Yang is too. I made it clear to Weiss that she should apologize to you when you meet her again."

"I'm going to call for the police if you don't mind." The monkey Faunus said and Naruto nodded.

Blake continued. "You're just doing your job as a team leader but stop it okay? You haven't seen what my life is. You don't know what it feels like to be treated like trash or being judged and overlooked just because your ears are not on your sides. Being labeled a criminal and considered lower than human beings simply because of what you are." She hissed out.

Naruto narrowed his eyes at her and countered. "On the contrary, I DO know what it's like to be treated like you do. Because I'm ALSO a Faunus." He lowered his head to let Blake see his ears.

Blake's eyes widened at this and Naruto continued. "I'm a Faunus and I was born in Atlas. That doesn't exactly make me popular. White Fang thinks I'm working for Atlas. Snobbish nobles think I'm working for the White Fang."

Blake asked. "Were you a part of the White Fang?"

Naruto shook his head. "Oh no. I was too concerned with my necessities to care about equality. Before Beacon, I often heard people call me 'freak', 'demon' and 'mutant' on account of my eyes plus other hurtful slurs."

Blake saw that Naruto's eyes clearly looked inhuman and asked. "So how do you deal with it?"

"I don't. I got used to it. As for my namesake, I researched that he was stabbed, poisoned, burned, made to eat trash food that even desperate street rats won't eat. You think you had it bad? My namesake had it much worse. The only benefit you have over me is that you know why you were hated." Naruto explained.

Blake nodded, having heard enough. "I'm sorry that I made you tell that horrible part of your past."

Naruto shrugged. "Not your fault. I understand why you left the way you did. You weren't ready yet. Now let's explain ourselves to the police and go back to our team."

Naruto and Blake explained things to the police with some embellishments and modifications to some parts then headed back to the school were the rest of the team were waiting for them.

Weiss ran to Blake and hugged her. "We've been looking for you everywhere. I'm so sorry, can you forgive me?"

"I'm sorry too for leaving the way I did and I forgive you." Blake hugged back and replied.

Naruto let out a tired sigh and declared. "Sweet. Let's go to bed. This has been a long day."

Everyone agreed without hesitation.
