If a picnic wasn't over the top, imagine the view. Seth took me on a little hike up a hill which overlooked all of LA. By the time we made it up there, the sky was bright colours of oranges and fiery reds, dashes of pink and purple here and there and the sun was a bright reddish orange.
"Wow," I say in awe.
"I know," Seth replies, "cool, huh?"
"Cool? To describe this? No way. This is rather exquisite," I reply dreamily.
"Exquisite? What kind of a word is that?" Seth questions trying not to burst out laughing.
"Well, let me think. Maybe if you would've put a bit of effort into your assignments in Mr. Ford's class, you would know what it means," I answer with slight sarcasm.
"You're such a nerd. I like it," Seth says goofily opening a lemonade. I blush and go back to staring at the sky. A couple walks by on the trail behind us.
"Seth, why did you ask me out in front of the whole school? I know we liked each other for a long time," Seth smiles, "but how in heck did you come up with all of this?" I quesion.
"I wanted you to remember this forever," he replies brushing my hair out of my face. I laugh. "What? You didn't like it?"
"No, it's not that I didn't like it. I loved it, but holy, Seth."
"Holy what?" He asks grinning.
"I don't know," I reply still staring off into the distance.
"Courtney Hayes, we are going on a little adventure," Seth says out of the blue.
"What?" I answer shocked.
"Come with me," he says pulling me up off the ground.
"What about our picnic?"
"We leave it."
I don't know what to say. So, I follow Seth down the trail, out fingers interlaced. It smelled like wind out and I took in the scent of the nature. "Have you ever spray painted something before?" Seth asks out of the blue.
"Seth-"
"Well you're about to. No ifs ands or buts," he announces cutting me off.
"Seth, I'm not so sure.. it is considered vandalism," I reply feeling uneasy.
"It's art, Courtney," he answers. Seth stops dead in his tracks and stares at me with a dead serious look. "We're about to have the best summer of our lives.""Seth, don't draw that!!" I laugh uncontrollably.
"What? Don't you like it?" He asks giving me a kiss on the forehead.
"It's quite provocative," I murmur.
"What's with the big words? I'm not smart enough to get that nerdy shiz," he says grinning.
"Shiz? Seriously?" I reply laughing even harder. Leave it to Seth to say something like that. I stare at the graffiti wall. I spray painted a flower in white and pink paint. Seth painted a, well, an inappropriate male feature. I shook my head.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" I ask suddenly thinking of the consequences.
"Stop being such a scaredy cat. Is that what you are?" He asks teasingly. I kiss him on the cheek. His beard stubble tickles me.
"Less of a scaredy cat than you!"
"I don't think so!" Seth hollers picking me up over his shoulder and running around with me.
"Put me down! Seth Phillips, I swear to god! Ahhhh!" I screech an holler.
"Hey!!!! You two!"
Oh no.
