The difference between us

Chapter 11

Maddie's POV
The girl who introduces herself as Jane leads us up to the throne room where I meet her equally stunning twin, Alec.

Alec looks very similar to his sister, though his hair is a dark brown, he is taller in stature, and his lips aren't as full as hers. Alec, along with his sister Jane, is also angelically beautiful. I swear they are related to Aphrodite.

'Perhaps they're the love children of Eros and Psyche?' I briefly think.

I stood in between the two as the trial commences, but I pay it no mind as my focus is on the gorgeous beings next to me. My heart and body hum with happiness and contentment just by being near them.

'Is this what my parents meant? Are these gorgeous beings connected to my destiny? I hope so....because I just met them and I already feel struck by Cupid's bow.'

Evie's POV
I watched in relief as Maddie is being protected by what appears to be two very powerful and feared individuals in the vampire world.

I return my attention to the task at hand and I'm instantly enraptured by the three men sitting on thrones in the middle of the marble room.

The man in the middle stands and approaches us "Ah! Bella is alive and well after all. I do love happy endings, they are so rare" he takes Edward's hand in his sending a spark of envy into my heart. I brush it off and instead observe the men, who I assume are the vampire kings, features.

The middle man has an average build, being 5'10 tall and having almost translucent skin. I feel compelled to touch his skin to verify if it is smooth and cold, and granite-hard like Alice's or powdery like chalk. His hair is very long and jet black. When he moves, it appears so graceful that it looks like he is floating. His eyes are a milky red color that makes me feel safe despite the startling color. He appears to have been transformed into a vampire in his early to mid-30s and is very handsome.

I turn my attention to the male on the far right of the room. He appears to be in his early 20s. His hair is silky blond and his skin so white that it's almost translucent. His eyes are dark red, though cloudy or milky like the first male. I estimate him to be 5'9 tall with an average build and is very graceful.

The male seated to the far left appears to be middle-aged. He has black hair to shoulder length, and I estimate that he'd stand at 6'0 tall, with an average build and, like the previous males. I have no doubt that he'd be incredibly graceful in his movements. His white skin is translucent with a papery texture, and his red vampire eyes have an overlying milk. He seems totally expressionless and uninterested about everything else in existence.

All three wear black cloaks and have a V like gold crest around their necks.

As if sensing my gaze the male to the far left looks up, and upon making eye contact with me he gasps and quickly stands up before zipping over to me "La mia regina sei davvero tu? Sei tornato a casa dopo tutto questo tempo?" He asks in a language that I assume is Italian, (My queen is it really you? Have you come home after all this time?), I look at him in surprised, confusion.

"Brother?" Both the blonde and ravenette call out in confusion. The man looks up and says "Fratelli! Lei è qui! La nostra regina, la nostra compagna è finalmente venuta da noi!" He announces joyfully (Brothers! She is here! Our queen, our mate has finally come to us!). Upon hearing his words the two male bolt over to his sides and marvel at me while I flush and look around the room for answers only to be met with surprised faces from the red-eyed members and the panicked looks from the Cullen duo.

My sister seemed to be confused as well, while Bella looked pissed.

'Am I missing something....?'
