My eyes mechanically open,I don't even have to check the time on my alarm clock that's on top of my desk,because I always wake up at the same time 6:00 am it's become a routine.My first thought when I wake is ugh I fucking hate Monday ,but then again who doesn't?
I get out of bed throwing the sheets on the floor not bothering to pick them up and I head towards the bathroom.
The bathroom is connected to my room so I don't have to share with my older brother Calvin (he's 18 and thinks he's the shit because of it, even though he still hasn't moved out) my bathroom is small but not so much that everything is cluttered together, the walls are a smooth peach color and the floor is covered with grey tiles that go up to the shower tube ,dry tube,the toilet and the sink.
When I finish brushing my teeth and washing my face I quickly tie my hair up in a messy bun and go to my walk in closet. It doesn't take me long to change ,I just throw on my favorite jeans and a random shirt with too many flowers on it.Why did I buy this? I then put on black running shoes and do my bed.
Before I go to the dining room I look in the mirror next to my walk in closet.
I have my dark brown hair in a lazy bun but since I have bangs some hair escaped and lays on both sides of my face, my big brown eyes make my round face look smaller.I never wear makeup unless we go to an event but my lips always have a rosy color to them.I give myself one more glance and then leave to the dining table where mother probably has already prepared breakfast.
I was right ,as soon as I walk in to the dining room area I am greeted with waves of what smells like bacon ,pancakes ,and french toast.The table is suited for only 4 people and we all have our assigned seats, mine is inbetween Calvin and my mother. When I take my seat, mother hands me my food and I begin to eat as if I haven't eaten in years.
"You look like a man when you eat, no wonder you don't have a boyfriend yet"says Cal while he laughs. Mother and father stay quiet, they're use to us bickering and decided long ago not to get involved.I am the first to finish my food .. as always.I kiss my mother and father goodbye they do the same and dad hands me two twenty dollar bills as I head out trying to avoid my brother behind me trying to catch up so he can walk me to my highschool and embarrass me like he always does.
"Stop following me Cal" I say when he finally catches up to me.
"I always walk you to school no use fighting it cause I always win, besides it's such a beautiful day, can you stop being stupid for one day and enjoy this Monday"
He wasn't wrong it is a beautiful day ,it always is though our city is absolutely gorgeous there's a shop everywhere you turn and waterfalls that always go with the little plazas and the buildings seem as if they never end touching the sky.Our city is protected by a forcefield of some kind so it's always sunny with a touch of breeze,and I feel quite safe with so many police all around ,it truly is the perfect world ,there literally hasn't been any crimes or wars since 2953 when the last war took place and peace took over except for a couple bullies here and there ,I guess you can never truly have peace .
I decide not to fight Cal and let him walk me to Dauntless highschool home of the Beasts. When we reach Dauntless Highschool I can see my three best friends in the entire world standing near the flag pole ,Julie waves for me to go and join them.
"See you on the other side" I say to Cal who is already headed to some girls by the trees but stops to say
"Yeah, see you after school stupid ,oh and tell Jewel I said I'm still waiting on that first date!" the girls laugh and I turn bright red ,Cal always had a crush on Julie and bugs her to go on a date with him every chance he gets but she never says yes
