One by one the principal called up the students to receive a million awards. I got my award and walked down with a bouquet of flowers, two awards, and my diploma. I took a seat and watched everyone receive theirs. It seemed like time couldn't go slower when I heard a ping on my phone. I picked it up and opened the Gmail notification. It read,

I sat there, frozen, lost for words. I couldn't believe it! I was accepted into one of the most prestigious universities there was! I smiled to myself for the rest of the graduation ceremony.
When it was time for senior lunch, me and Jake went out to the bleachers to meet everyone.
"Hey Zander! Luke!" I called out, waving.
"Hey Hailey! Come on over here!" Luke said back. I took Jake's hand and we ran over to them.
I opened my lunch and grabbed my lunchbox out. I unlocked the lid and started chowing down the pasta my step-mom had packed for me.
"So," I said, with my mouth full of pasta, "Did any of yall get into R.I.M.A?" I know it was Zander and Luke's dream to get into that university, and I would be so excited to have them with me.
Zander looked down, and with a heavy heart, Luke spoke, "No, we got rejected because we weren't what they were looking for..."
"YEA THEY DONT NEED A PIANIST OR DRUMMER!" Zander shouted. Luke comforted him as he asked me,
"What bout you Hails? Did you make it?" I felt really horrible to tell them I did since my older brother was already terribly upset.
"No, I didn't," I immediately put on a fake face. "Apparently they weren't looking for any guitarists or vocalists either." I said
At the end of the day, I was walking home when I saw a music shop with almost everything I needed. I looked around to see if Zander was behind me. Phew. He wasn't I sneaked into the shop and looked at the instruments
"Excuse me? I would like that one!" I said pointing to it.
