Spectra is someone who is normally upbeat and inquisitive, but this time her questions are more directed towards herself. Unlike anyone else who I've previously interviewed here, she was not really affected by Clawd's death as a friend of him. More in other ways.
Neighthan: Hi, Spectra.
Spectra: Hello.
She floats in with minimal sadness. Everything about her appears normal.
Neighthan: How are you doing today?
Spectra: Alright, but there's nothing for me to post about on the Gory Gazette.
Neighthan: How so?
This is very unusual indeed. As far as anyone can remember, Spectra's always found something to post about on her blog every day. And with all the news about Clawd committing suicide, I'm honestly surprised she hasn't beaten me to interview everyone she can.
Spectra: There is news, but it is not for me.
Neighthan: Aren't journalists always meant to report the truth?
Spectra: Maybe, but journalists can't always report everything.
Neighthan: What are you talking about? There's been very little news around here since Clawd died. People can talk about precious little else.
Spectra: Well, senior year has a lot of demands too. I have to improve my grades.
Neighthan: Your grades are amazing last time I checked. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you have an A in all subjects bar Maths, Art and Physics.
Spectra's eyes widen. I've checked soon enough for her.
Spectra: Neighthan, what are you playing at here?
Neighthan: Normally you love to post on your blog, it doesn't add up that all of a sudden, with news being so present everywhere about Clawd, you don't at least type up a eulogy.
Spectra: I guess you are right, but it is not my place to talk about another monster in this school dying.
Neighthan: You can't at least say he died and pay your respects?
Spectra: Well, there's...complications.
Neighthan: What kind of complications?
Spectra: You're not making this easy, Neighthan. You're being very pushy.
Neighthan: I have to be, unfortunately. Like you, I want to know the truth.
Spectra: Look, I was not involved at all with Clawd when he first got the injury and was in hospital. I made an article about him getting injured because I thought nothing of it. I thought he'd be out of hospital and back in school for New Year.
Neighthan: But he wasn't.
Spectra: Yes. I still made articles, just so people could send thoughts and prayers knowing his situation a bit more. I also notified people when he broke up with Draculaura, like I did last time. But this time, it was less tabloid-y. More factual, more sincere.
Neighthan: It's good you're sticking to the facts a lot more since you abandoned the Ghostly Gossip moniker.
Spectra: I suppose that is one of the good things to come out of all of this.
Neighthan: So when did you stop?
Spectra: I can't tell you that.
Neighthan: We're confidential here.
Spectra: Are you? They could be listening.
Neighthan: What? Who? How?
Spectra: Somehow, they find a way to listen in. I can't risk it. And if I tell what happened, and they find out I did, then they will hit back at me even harder. I shall be disgraced.
