"Male Sirens don't exist, don't be so silly."
"There are multiple reports of them though!"
"Have YOU ever seen one?"
"No but-"
"Then you have no room to speak. Now board the ship so we can get on with it and captain will no longer have to wait!"
".. Aye Aye.."

Laff listens to his mates bicker about the existence of male sirens. They were intriguing indeed and an interesting subject to talk about, but even he himself didn't believe in the creatures. He's only ever heard about female sirens. Though, a part of him still believes there may be such a thing. Many fairytales are true so why can't male mermaids and sirens be?

Laff watches the remaining mates board the ship. "Time to set sail supposedly." He mutters and boards his ship.

After a few minutes, they were finally set sail over the sea. They could still see the land they were previously at so they hadn't gotten extremely far. But it was still quite the distance. Laff spent his time talking with the crew and ordering most around as they quickened their pace to finish orders. Laff was captain after all, and no man or woman in his crew could deny his orders. They would be thrown overboard and left to die by the wicked end of the sea.

It took a few hours until they were in the middle of no where and on their way to find a new destination. The ship rocked back and forth as a thunderstorm approached quickly. "Be prepared captain! Storm ahead!" A member from the crew shouts above. "Make sure we don't flip over." Laff orders as his crew nods. They quickly make sure everything's in check as the thunderstorm gets closer. The sea gets more and more furious after ever rumble from the storm.

Not even five minutes later, the ship is being thrown around like a rag doll. Laff struggled as he held onto the rails of the ship. He watched as one of his crew members held on tightly to a pole. A giant wave came in and hit the ship, pulling him off of the pole along with a few other members who were trying their best to keep the ship from turning over. Laff looked over at one of his friends. She held on tightly to the side as well and looked over at him. "I DON'T THINK I CAN HOLD ON MUCH LONGER!" She shouts over the storm. "JUST TRY!" He yells even though he already knew she was trying her hardest to keep out of the water. The two turn towards the front of the ship and gasp as a giant wave comes towards them. "SHIT!" A crew member shouts. A few people scream as the ship turns on its side. Laff and his friend hold onto the side that was still out of the water. Although they couldn't do anything but watch as the giant wave quickly came closer and closer until it hit the ship, turning it over until they were submerged in the ocean.

Laff held his breath and looked to see his friend floating lifelessly a bit away from him. Laff looks around, desperately trying to find someone. He gives up and instead tries to swim up. He was already deep down to the point where he could see a few sharks lurking around the area. He never feared sharks, but that doesn't mean he wasn't afraid of drowning. He felt his energy running out and it felt like his lungs were about to burst. It was then did he decide to give up. He stopped swimming and opened his mouth letting the murky water go throughout his body. His vision turned blurry, both from the tears that quickly disappeared and his body filling with water signaling he would soon die. Before he passed out, he felt something or someone grab his arm.

Laff sits up and coughs rapidly as he feels the sea water leave his lungs. He could taste the saltiness of the water and wiped his eyes with the part of his hand that wasn't covered in sand. He looks around to see he ended up on an empty beach. He hears a voice and turns to his right to see- a mermaid?- A merman? He shakes his head to make sure he was really seeing what he was seeing. It seems they hadn't noticed Laff was awake yet. "H-" Laff stops himself. He got a better view once he could finally see perfectly. It was a boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He had a necklace with a juice cup on it and instead of legs he had a red fish?-mermaid tail. Laff clears his throat grabbing the boys attention, "Pardon?" He asks looking at the guy who froze. Laff watches as a boy flops into view. "Who's that?" They ask. "The human I helped. Nadwe." He answers and hurry's the boy into the water. He was about to follow when he feels someone grab his hand. "Wait! Wait!" He turns and sees Laff stopped him. "Uh- what-what are you? What's your name?" He asks.

"You must have a lot of questions. And unfortunately I can't answer them. We are two different species. You could try to kill me for all I know. I could've saved a murderer!" He tries to get his hand free but Laff's grip was tight. "I'm sorry but I need to know. And I won't hurt you I promise." The merman pauses for a minute. "Joocie.. I'm a male siren." Laff's eyes slightly widen. "So- you're kind is real?!" He asks in surprise. Joocie slowly nods. "What's your name human?" Joocie asks as Laff releases his tough grip on his hand. "Laffen Gas. Laff for short. I'm a ship captain. Speaking of which.. did any of my crew make it?" Joocie thinks for a minute and then shakes his head. "Afraid not. I apologize for your losses." Laff sighs in disappointment. Joocie turns back towards the sea. "I-uh- Joocie." The said man turns towards Laff and raises a brow. "Might I be able to see you again soon?" Joocie smiles. "Maybe. I'll come around sometime I suppose." Laff grins as Joocie disappears beneath the small waves in the water.

~2 years pass by~

Joocie visited Laff often. More than he had promised before. It was no shock when the siren talked about the human all the time to his family and friends. The whole underwater community knew about it too. Since Joocie was well know down there for his kindness and helpfulness. He was well considered a prince as the king and queen considered him a son. As they could not have children.

Laff orders his new crew to unpack the ship that was just transferred. They did it with haste as Laff checks off everything they unpacked. He hears a splash of water next to him and smiles. "Hello Joocie." He turns. "How'd you know it was me?" Joocie questions as Laff sits down in front of him. "Lucky guess." He shrugs. The land Laff was at currently believed fully in any sea creatures and accepted them. So people passing by did not mind that Laff was talking to one of the creatures. "I uh wnat you to have something!" Joocie says and quickly dips into the water. Laff chuckles and sits on the edge of the dock. He turns quickly, "Mary, would you mind checking the rest of the items off?" The woman turns and quickly takes a board Laff currently held. "Thank you." She nods and runs off towards the ship. Laff turns back once he hears the same splash of someone rising out of the ocean. "I'm back! Here!"

Joocie shows him a yellow ring and slightly blushes. "Can you give me your hand?" Laff nods as Joocie pulls his hand closer to himself. He slips the ring on and smiles as Laff looks at it. Joocie pulls his other hand out of the water and shows that he also wore a ring, a teal-green one. Laff chuckles. "You trying to marry me or something?" Joocie smiles at him. "Yeah.. actually." Laff pauses and smiles wider. "Really?" Joocie nods, "This is what my kingdom does I suppose. When you want to be with someone forever, you offer them items that include rings and maybe even sea flowers. Although.. however, we never have time for what you all call, 'first dates'." Joocie quickly dips back under water and comes up a second later with a bright yellow bundle of glowing sea flowers. He chuckles nervously as he hands them to the captain. Laff sets them beside where he was sitting and moves his position to where he was laying on his stomach. He cups Joocie's face with his hands and presses their lips together. Joocie freezes for a minute before gripping the dock with one hand to keep him up and his other hand tangled in Laff's hair. The kiss lasts for a little longer than intended before Laff finally pulls away, admiring the sirens details before him. "Are we married yet?" Laff jokes not expecting an answer. "Yup!" Joocie giggles and quickly disappears underwater.

A/N: I decided to try a new writing style kind of. Oh- btw should I make a book about this? I honestly like the story line and I have a few ideas for the gang 🌚
