No Tw needed <3
Pure Fluff
——————————"I can't believe you wore pineapple swim trunks," Socks grimaces, staring at his friend with pinched brows. "It's just so boring.."
"They were on sale! Plus.. I think they look good on me!" Blaza argues, twisting his body a bit and putting a hand on his hip to show off.
He got several looks in return.
"Anyway.. who's getting towels and stuff?" Nadwe calls from the ground. Muffin had already buried him in sand and they hadn't even been there for thirty minutes.
Muffin turned his look over to Joocie with puppy eyes. "That doesn't work on me Muf," Joocie crossed his arms in mock annoyance. "PLEASE!" Muffin screams, alerting a few people nearby and giving the group some dirty looks. Joocie throws his hands up, conjuring up a nervous smile and starts walking in the direction of the store fronts.
He entered the store a few moments later, fidgeting with his wallet in his pocket for a moment as he looked at stuff. He turned around and bumped into his companion that basically spawned out of nowhere.
Hands lightly grabbed his hips to steady him. The warmth that radiated between the contact had him feeling a lot less cold than he was earlier.
"Alright?" His friend asked with the slight tilt of his unmasked head. "Yeah, I'm good. Thanks Laff." Said man nodded and removed his hands to let them fall back to place by on his sides, all of the warmth that they brought to the other man disappeared at the movement.
"Figured you would need some help. Am I correct?" Laff had a toothy grin on his face and earned a nod in response from Joocie. "I don't think I can carry so many towels."
They barely did much searching, just grabbing whatever plain towels they saw. "We should've just brought some from the house. I know we have some lying around." Joocie receives a confirming hum from Laff in another aisle. "I was debating on having everyone dig through the boxes in the basement or take some from the bathrooms. But I was must have forgotten to mention it this morning before we left."
Joocie brushed it off with a small smile on his face, "They all can get boring ones instead then. Fight to the death ya know?" Joocie nudged Laff jokingly when he came to the other aisle.
The other man let out a breathy chuckle, turning to Joocie with a few towels in his hand. "They'd probably take ours then. As much as it would've been funny. And then we probably would get kicked out." Joocie sighs at the last sentence, agreeing almost instantly.
"I remember the Walmart incident," Laff says at the same time Joocie goes, "Walmart incident." They look at each other for a brief moment, snickering a second later.
They approach the counter, paying for the towels and leave bringing up another topic to talk about before they get mauled for towels.
"There's a stand with drinks if you'd like to take a look with me?" Laff offers, "To get away from the chaos for a little bit." Joocie nods almost instantly, "Why not?"
They handed out the towels to their friends, well, more like their friends just took a towel out of the pile they left on the few chairs they'd remember to bring.
Wolf and Dino were fighting over one even thought there was still a few towels left, so Socks who was nearby did the logical thing and threw a towel at Wolf who let out an exaggerated scream when his head was suddenly covered.
Without further needing to be around while the group started to run towards the water or decide to stay on their towels, Laff and Joocie snuck off quietly to grab drinks and sit off somewhere quiet.
There was a dock nearby so they decided to sit at the end of it. They avoided most of the people that were taking pictures at the dock and talking with a friend of theirs while they took a seat.
Laff took a long sip of his drink, Joocie had forgotten what the both of them ordered a long time ago (thirty seconds ago).
All he knew was he got something involving oranges in his and something involving a lime in Laff's.
"It's calm here. We should come here at night maybe. I think it would be a lot calmer." Laff expressed a vision of his that came up. He most of the time looks towards the future rather than the past. Envisioning what could and probably would happen.
"I'm down." Joocie simply says, because he genuinely is. Why not, right?
After a moment of silence, Laff utters, "Just us." It was so quiet Joocie could barely hear it. But he did anyway. And a smile slipped on to his face.
"Sure." Joocie responded, he might've been reading this wrong but he would've still agreed either way. Laff took one last large swig of his drink before setting it by his side. He was silent before speaking up.
"You understand what I'm asking, yes?" Joocie pauses at the man's words before deciding to just nod. "And you're saying yes?" Laff looks over at him, lips slightly parted and his gaze softened. Joocie nodded, a faint blush covering his face. He scratched his neck nervously when sweat started to appear wondering if he said the wrong thing. Laff simply grabbed his hand and held it, lowering it to their conjoined hands on the floor they sat on between them.
"I'd been planing on asking for a while. I'm sure you can see why I've never gotten around to it." Joocie casts a brief glance over at the rest of his friend group who were having fun.
Socks was dumping water —with the help of TBH filling the buckets— onto Meme who sat on the towel trying to read, Wolf and Dino were helping Muffin attempt to bury a sleeping Oompa, Nadwe was unburied from the sand a while ago and was on Blaza's shoulders about to attack an Oof with a Tbvg on his own shoulders, even Ally was there talking to a seemingly nice girl and laughing with her.
"You've got a point." Joocie chuckles and turns to look back at Laff. The man's thumb rubbed the back of their held hands a sweet gesture. "I suppose I will ask you properly." Laff nervously sighs and pops the question, "Will you go on a date with me?" Joocie gives the man a soft smile before pecking his cheek. "Hell yeah." Laff grins, no longer having a nervous demeanor and stands up, pulling Joocie with him who quickly puts down his drink.
Their lips met in a soft kiss that lasted only a few seconds but felt like forever. When they pulled apart, they both laughed a bit in relief. Relishing in the fact the other felt the same. They both stopped and turned when they heard several gasps.
Their friends stood there stock still for a second, Nadwe pointing a finger at the two but unable to move for a second. The two froze as well, uncertain of what will happen until Nadwe let's out a squeal that makes a lot of people have to cover their ears before he gets a slap to the head by Meme. The feeling of that squeal was unknown.
"We're gonna get kicked out! Quiet!" Meme scolds before he attacks a stunned Socks. Everyone of them turned back to what they were doing but not before Tbh gave Laff and Joocie a thumbs up and a wink. Oof and Tbvg also waved to them for a brief second.
Nothings changed. Good. Laff and Joocie let out a short breath of relief. Laff initiates a hug first, gripping his date closely. Joocie sighed with satisfaction and held the other tightly as well. The warm feeling is back. And he's never felt happier.

Author Note:Dedicated to the fact I haven't updated and was requested to do so. I hope you like this chapter, while it wasn't as quick to come out as I hoped since I haven't written in a while I do hope it was still to your liking.
I also just realized my writing style has changed a bit from the start of this story to the beginning. So yes the change up is a little weird. That's what I get for my last chapter being written in this story September 2022. 😭Author Out 🤑
